There are several resources you can gather to help you cook and craft in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Some of them are quite common, but there are some that are a little on the rarer side. One of the latter is the Kinglor Cocoon Fiber, an item that is definitely not something you will come across naturally. This page will focus on revealing the location of the Kinglor Cocoon Fiber, as well as how to harvest it.
Where to Find the Kinglor Cocoon Fiber in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora¶
The Kinglor Cocoon Fiber is something that can be quite challenging to find, simply because it’s not very common. The more common of the spots for this material is a place that is right under your nose. During one of the main story missions, you get introduced to the Kinglor at the top of the Hometree, which is the home base of the Aranahe Clan. Once you enter the gigantic tree, take the path that leads you all the way to the top, where you’ll find a Kinglor Nest.
If you use your Na’vi Sense, you should see some Kinglor Cocoon Fibers hanging from the tree. You can just pluck them like any other material, but these will always be of Fine quality.
Kinglor Cocoon Fiber Uses¶
Like with any fiber material, the Kinglor Cocoon Fiber is used to help craft waist armor.
How to Harvest Kinglor Cocoon Fiber¶
Luckily, you don’t really need to do anything too special in order to harvest the Cocoon Fibers. As with all other types of materials you can harvest, you can improve the quality of it by pushing the left analog stick in a specific direction before plucking the material. In the case of the Kinglor Cocoon Fiber, this direction will be down and right at the same time. If you don’t do this, then the overall quality will be lessened by a tiny bit. Additionally, if you want the best quality, then you will also want to harvest the fibers during the day.
Where to Find Superior and Exquisite Kinglor Cocoon Fibers¶
Unlike most materials in the game, where you can just find the rarer versions in specific locations, the Kinglor Cocoon Fiber is more involved. You will need to progress the main story until you finish the Pushing Back quest. After doing this, head to Hometree and go all the way to the Kinglor nest at the top, where you can find Etuwa. She will have a new side quest for you, called Steady Wings. This side quest will involve having to guide a Kinglor queen to a new nesting tree.
There’s multiple of these side quests and they can be quite annoying, too. Make sure you have it set as active, as the queen will be stressed if you take certain actions, like flying, swimming (it hates water in general), and fighting. Even running will slowly increase the stress level of the queen, so you will need to take it slow here and avoid all enemies/water. Other than getting over some rivers, which aren’t difficult, the side quests are fairly easy, but long because of the stress thing. Thankfully, you will be able to reset the stress level at certain trees with Kinglor Flowers.
There are a total of three quests, which means there are at least three Kinglor Nesting Trees. Do all three and the any other trees you find will start producing cocoons. The nesting trees are where you will get Superior and Exquisite versions of the Kinglor Cocoon Fiber.
