One of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s greatest strengths is the Western Frontier itself, and all of the flora and fauna you can find within it. It plays a huge part in the gameplay loop too; you’ll often need the various resources for crafting materials or cooking ingredients. Blaze Fruit is one of the trickier, and rarer, cooking ingredients to track down, and once you do, it can be difficult to understand how you gather it. This page will show you where you can find Blaze Fruit, and how to gather it safely.
Blaze Fruit Locations in Avatar¶
Before you even set off to locate some Blaze Fruit, be aware that you won’t be able to find it, let alone harvest it, without the aid of an Ikran. You’ll get your Ikran after completing the Take Flight Main Quest, the 10th such quest located in the Kinglor Forest region.
With that first, simple step out of the way, you’ll want to make your way to the Thorny Wilds Biome, which can be found in the Silk Woods sub-region of the Kinglor Forest. This is located to the southeast of the area. You should see on the map large spires; these mountains are what you’re looking for so head east from the Ikran Rookery and fly up toward them. As you fly toward these mountains, fly up to around the middle of them and use your Na’vi Sense, you’ll spot some vines coming off the mountains, these house your Blaze Fruits.
How to Gather Blaze Fruit¶
As the Blaze Fruit is in the air, you’ll need to be riding your Ikran to gather this resource. You’ll also gather this differently from any other plant, where you’ll usually need to press the interact button to begin the gathering process.
As you get close to the Whip Leaf, you’ll notice it will attempt to strike out at you, and should it hit you, you’ll go tumbling off your Ikran! The goal, then, is to fly close enough to it that you “activate” the vines but are far enough that they won’t hit you. You’ll then see the blue dot that indicates you can gather the Blaze Fruit. As you fly closer, you’ll notice that you will hold your hand up high, this means that you will attempt to gather it once you fly to the fruit, you don’t actually need to press a button.
Pristine and Rarer Blaze Fruit¶
If you’re looking for higher quality Blaze Fruit, or trying to harvest them in Pristine Condition, you’ll have to look for specific conditions. Pristine Quality is simple for Blaze Fruit, you just need to ensure that it is raining since there is no gathering mini-game here. As for rarer Whip Leaves, you’ll have a greater chance to find them at higher altitudes on the various cliffs and floating mountains. It’s also important to note that you can find these on any mountains in the Western Frontier, it’s just that the ones in Kinglor Forest are among the first you’ll find.
