There are many different pieces of equipment and spells to discover in Black Myth: Wukong, and perhaps the most mysterious of them all are the Relics. These are not only a system that is tied directly to the main plot of the game, but also offer some truly unique benefits. Keep reading to learn what all of the Relics are, when you can get your hands on, and what ability you should activate!

Craving Eyes Location and Abilities¶
For a while, until you beat the Black Bear Guai at the end of Chapter 1, Relics will be completely unknown to you. You soon discover after obtaining this one at the end of the Chapter that The Destined One is on a mission to reclaim all of Sun Wukong’s lost Relics.
The first of these, Craving Eyes, will unlock the tab in your menu screen, where you’ll find three abilities of which you can only have one active at a time. You can respec this for free from any Shrine, so your choice is not permanent, but you will want to choose the best ability from the three available.
Each Relic will have an ability that boosts one of your spells in a specific way, and for Craving Eyes, that’s the Cloud Step spell. We’d argue that Eagle Eye, however, is the least useful ability out of the three, but the other two are good shouts. Especially in the early game, having a way to generate Focus Points quicker from Opportune Watcher is really handy, but late game, consider switching to Keen Insight for the Critical Damage boost.
Fuming Ears Location and Abilities¶
Once you make your way through Yellow Wind Ridge and defeat the Yellow Wind Sage at the end of it, you’ll get your hands on the second Relic, Fuming Ears. Once again, you’ll have three abilities to choose from that you can respect at any time from a Shrine. This time, it’s the Rock Solid spell that you can boost through an ability.
If you’ve found yourself using Rock Solid a lot, and have mastered the timing for it, then activating Sound as A Bell is an easy choice, as you’ll get Mana back from your deflections, at the cost of decreasing the window for activating it. If instead, you prefer to rely on the dodge, then you should look at activating Whistling Wind as getting an attack boost from your Perfect Dodges will add up to the overall damage you output, especially in bosses when you need to Perfect Dodge more often.
Hubris Nose Location and Abilities¶
The next Chapter sees The Destined One head for The New West in arguably the longest Chapter in Black Myth: Wukong. After all of the trials you undertake, you’ll succeed in defeating Yellowbrow and obtaining the Hubris Nose Relic. The Ring of Fire spell is the beneficiary of this next Relic should you choose it.
While being able to build up to four Focus Points in a Ring of Fire can be handy, the other two abilities for this Relic are very good and not worth sacrificing for it. If you find yourself using spells often, such as Immobilize or A Pluck of Many, then going for Lingering Aroma will give you a nice damage boost. Alternatively, if you feel you never get enough invincibility frames from your dodges, Hold Breath is a great ability to activate to increase it.
Envious Tongue Location and Abilities¶
Chapter 4 sees you delve deep into the Webbed Hollow with Zhu Bajie where you’ll eventually come into contact with the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master, a devious foe who will turn his back on allies at a moment’s notice. Best him, and you’ll obtain the Envious Tongue Relic that will be able to boost the Immobilize spell.
Unless you don’t have equipped the Immobilize spell, the Spread the Word ability is by far the best choice to go for here as it makes Immobilize, an already great spell, even stronger, by spreading the effect to any nearby enemies. The other two abilities are all about giving you bonus effects from your Gourd, be it increasing your Critical Hit Chance after a drink, or improving the Health Recovery based on how many Soaks you have set. If you find yourself relying on your Gourd a lot, consider this ability.
Grieved Body Location and Abilities¶
You’ll find that Chapter 5, which takes place in the Flaming Mountains, is a lot more linear than Chapters 2, 3, and 4, which may be a welcome sight. Nevertheless, brave the fiery peaks and you’ll eventually come face to face with the Yaksha King and should you defeat him, you’ll obtain the Grieved Body Relic for your troubles.
Unlike the other Relics, there won’t be a spell that benefits from this Relic, instead, all three abilities focuses on The Destined One’s stats. At this stage of the game, your Stamina depleting should be a thing of the past for the most part, so Nimble Body isn’t as useful (even if it is still a strong ability). We like to go with Everlasting Vitality, getting a considerable increase to your Vitality is always a welcome sight, especially if you mean to take on the secret boss.
Freed Mine Location and Abilities¶
Black Myth: Wukong’s final Relic doesn’t come until you defeat the final boss, and as such, won’t be usable realistically until you’re on a new cycle in New Game+. Still, you won’t see any abilities on this Relic until you unlock it, and that can be done by defeating the secret boss as a requirement for the secret ending when beating the final boss again.
All three of the abilities here are extremely powerful, and you can’t really go wrong with any of them. If you don’t find yourself using A Pluck of Many or the NG+ exclusive Life-Saving Strand spells, then Elegance in Simplicity is great for increasing the damage of your light attacks. Out of the other two abilities, we’re big fans of Unified Minds as A Pluck of Many is arguably the best spell in the game and improving your duplicates even further should be a lock for you.
