Black Myth: Wukong has several secret bosses and Elder Jinchi is the one exclusive to chapter 1. It can be found in the Ancient Guanyin Temple which is only accessible once you’ve rang three bells. On this page, we’ll provide you with the necessary tips to beat him!
Elder Jinchi Boss Strategy¶
Elder Jinchi is the final objective you need to complete in order to complete the hidden bell questline, but there’s some preparations you should do before attempting to challenge him. To begin, you want to make sure your equipment is up to scratch, so at this stage of the game you should have the Twin Serpents Staff Weapon and the Pilgrim’s Armor Set equipped. Additionally, you’ll want to purchase the Evil Repelling Medicament, as this will temporarily reduce any incoming damage which will be extremely useful for most boss fights.
This battle is one of the simpler ones you’ll encounter in chapter 1, but it can become tough if you allow him to consume any of the adds as this will regenerate its health. The best way to tackle this opponent is to attack him 2-4 times and then retreat to avoid some of the close range attacks and then kill the adds to constantly regenerate your health. If you have the immobilize spell, then be sure to make use of it, as this will allow you to deal some free damage. However, Elder Jinchi has some powerful attacks up his sleeve and you learn more about them below:
Shockwave Blast¶
Throughout the battle Elder Jinchi will punch the ground and a shockwave will be unleashed around him, so you’ll want to keep your distance otherwise the blast that follows will take off a large chunk of your health. If you get hit, then you’ll want to avoid using up your healing potions and instead attack the adds to regenerate your health.
Stomp¶
If you stay too close to Elder Jinchi, then he’ll slam his foot into the ground which will knock you over and leave you vulnerable to further attacks. The best way is by attacking him a couple of times and then retreat until another opening reveals itself.
Blast¶
Elder Jinchi can consume all of the adds on the battlefield and blast you with the consumed energy, so you’ll want to quickly create some distance before he unleashes this devastating attack.
Add Explosion¶
At certain points throughout the battle you’ll notice the adds will begin to glow and this indicates that they’re about to home in on you and explode if they get close, so you’ll want to keep on the move until they’re all dead.
Regeneration¶
Once you get Elder Jinchi’s health down to the halfway point, then he’ll start glowing and float up into the sky. Here you’ll want to take down as many adds as possible before they reach him otherwise he’ll get a portion of health back for every one he consumes.
There you have it, every attack that Elder Jinchi has in his arsenal along with tips on how to counter them. Overall, keeping your distance and not getting too greedy with your attacks, then this opponent shouldn’t cause you too much of a problem.
