Celestial Ribbons are the rarest armor crafting material in Black Myth: Wukong.

Where to Find Celestial Ribbons

As mentioned above, Celestial Ribbon is the rarest armor crafting material in Black Myth: Wukong, holding a Mythical rarity. Much like Kun Steel, you’re going to have to wait until the final stages of the journey to start getting your hands on them, and there’s only so much you’ll find on your first playthrough.

As such, there are 12 Celestial Ribbons you can obtain in any given playthrough, those are as follows:

  • Defeat "Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master" iconHundred-Eyed Daoist Master at the end of Chapter 4

  • Defeat "Keeper of the Flaming Mountains" iconKeeper of the Flaming Mountains in Chapter 5

  • Three Chests in Chapter 5 (two of which are in the Secret Area)

  • Defeat "Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast" iconBishui Golden-Eyed Beast in Chapter 5’s Secret Area

  • Purchase from The Purge Pit Shrine’s Store (in the Secret Area of Chapter 5)

  • Defeat "Yaksha King" iconYaksha King at the end of Chapter 5

  • Purchase from a Shrine Store in Chapter 6

  • Defeat the Supreme Inspector in Chapter 6

  • Defeat the secret boss at the end of Chapter 3’s Secret Area (which requires you to beat all of the other Secret Areas in the). This is the hardest boss in the game and will reward you with the final two Ribbons

You won’t come across any Celestial Ribbons until you defeat the final boss of Chapter 4, the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master while you’ll also find that the Keeper of the Flaming Mountains and Chapter 5’s final boss will drop another Ribbon each, by this time you should start seeing recipes that need it. These are all tough bosses, but you can’t miss them as they’re all required to progress the main storyline. Finally, the final boss of the Secret Area of Chapter 5 will also drop a Ribbon, giving you four from bosses by the end of Chapter 5 alone!

To reach the first Celestial Ribbon Chest in Chapter 5, start at the Furnace Valley - Valley Entrance Shrine and continue forward without deviating too much, you’ll eventually reach the Chest near the edge of a cliff. You’ll need to wait until you reach the Secret Area of Chapter 5, Bishui Cave, and travel to the Cave Depths Shrine. From here, continue forward and look to your left to find a Chest containing a selection of Mythic-tier materials including the Ribbon. Continue forward from this Chest and follow the path for a while, eventually a second chest will show up on your right once you reach a cave with crystals.

You’ll get your first Celestial Ribbon by defeating the final boss of Chapter 4.

The final Celestial Ribbon in Chapter 5 comes from purchasing it from the Shrine Store at the Purge Pit Shrine, which is in the Secret Area. The regular Shrine store of Chapter 5 will not sell this, so be sure to warp to the correct Shrine and purchase it. Likewise, once you reach a Shrine in the game’s final Chapter, you can purchase another one!

The final two Celestial Ribbons are perhaps the toughest in the game, you’ll need to unlock the Chapter 3 Secret Area, Wei Mountain, and defeat the optional superbosses at the end. These are considered the toughest battles in the game and will unlock the secret ending once you defeat the final boss again. Still, if you’re planning on a New Game+ run, be sure to pocket these final Celestial Ribbons before you head into the next cycle!
