Black Myth: Wukong

Cold Iron Leaves Locations

By
Ben Chard

There are plenty of armor sets to unlock and craft in Black Myth: Wukong and as such, you’ll need to source plenty of materials throughout your Journey. As you venture into Chapter 2, you’ll start needing more of the "Cold Iron Leaves" iconCold Iron Leaves material to craft a lot of the equipment and this page will inform you where you can best find it.

Cold Iron Leaves are needed to craft many armor sets in Black Myth: Wukong.

Where to Find Cold Iron Leaves

If you’ve been paying attention to the drops of the enemies in Black Myth: Wukong, you may have noticed that each chapter has a tier of material associated to it. While you can still get a few of the next tier in the previous chapter, it’s a lot rarer. It’s not until you beat both the secret boss ("Fuban" iconFuban) of Chapter 2 and the final boss itself, The Yellow Wind Sage where you’ll start needing the material, used to unlock the armor sets you get from those battles.

Unlike Yarn and Silk, there are a lot more recipes you can use Cold Iron Leaves for, so finding a steady source of them is going to be very useful!

There are three main methods for obtaining Cold Iron Leaves, and they are as follows:

  • As a rare drop from the tougher non-boss enemies in Chapter 3

  • Commonly dropped by most bosses in Chapter 3

  • Purchased from some Shrines

  • Found in chests scattered about

As Cold Iron Leaves are Epic in their rarity, they won’t come as commonly from non-boss enemies as perhaps "Yarn" iconYarn and "Silk" iconSilk did. There is a small chance that the stronger non-boss enemies can drop these still, but not to the point that they’re worth farming. Most of the bosses in Chapter 3, however, will often drop Cold Iron Leaves as their reward, so be sure to seek them all out.

Most Epic armor requires Cold Iron Leaves. (left), Chests are your best source of Cold Iron Leaves, like this one to the left of the shore at the Mirrormere Shrine in Chapter 3. (right)

You may not be aware of this, but Shrines in Black Myth: Wukong have their own inventory based on the Chapter and sometimes different areas within, save for a different shop for any “Secret” areas (of which there is one in Chapters 1, 2, and 4). For the purpose of this guide, you’re looking for any Shrines that may be selling Cold Iron Leaves, and in Chapter 3, which doesn’t leave you with much choice. You’ll be able to buy two Cold Iron Leaves at 900 "Will" iconWill a piece, which you will most likely already have on you.

Finally, Chests will be your best source of Cold Iron Leaves in Chapter 3, many of them will often include either Cold Iron Leaves or "Refined Iron Sand" iconRefined Iron Sand, a material needed for the current tier of weapons. For example, once you reach the Mirrormere Shrine early in Chapter 3, you can head left at the shore to find a wooden chest containing some Cold Iron Leaves, as do many of the chests in the Pagoda Realm.
