Survey | When using the “Cannon” command, Hit+10 |
Opportunity Shot | When the user is a Ballistician, Skill % chance of attacking a nearby enemy unit at the start of the player’s phase |
Rifled Barrel | When using the “Cannon” command, range+1 and inner/outer range-1 |
Surefooted | When user is a Ballistician, movement+1 and all terrain will now only cost 1 movement to cross |
The Ballistician’s gimmick is that you can use the “ Cannon “ command to hit enemies from afar, making the unit basically a moving Turret. The Ballistician is very powerful, but slow and a bit fragile, and also has a severely limited movement range. Hitting from afar should be used often so that you can then destroy the enemy in one-hit so that you don’t have to worry about your lower Speed, or your 4-tile range.
Most of the Ballistician’s skills deal with manipulations upon using the Cannon command, but Opportunity Shot is a great way to get in a free attack, and Surefooted does what Takumi’s Fujin Yumi does: ignores terrain. You’ll still take damage from things like fiery terrain, but stuff like water, waste, and desert will no longer hamper your ability to move around, which makes it a great skill to pick up and put on any unit, not just dedicated Ballisticians.
Pick up a Ballistician seal at the DLC map Ballistician’s Blitz.
