Upon the release of Hexwork’s first game, Lords of the Fallen, players were astounded to hear of the incredibly hazardous journey that is its NG+ system. With the challenge of no vestiges, many players let the devs know of their frustrations with the system, combined with the game’s lengthy replayability. The result is a solid response from the developers with a better NG+ system, with some compromises of the devs’ original vision of a brutal challenge for those willing to go that extra mile.
With the latest Lords of the Fallen patches, PC and console players have a new NG+ system. The new changes offer players a more casual and completionist approach, with more gradual changes as you get deeper into the NG+ attempts. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Lords of the Fallen New Game Plus system.
How New Game Plus Works in Lords of the Fallen?¶
With the release of the patch as of October 24, 2023, the new Game Plus works as follows:
- Players who complete an ending can select an NG+ option from the Skyrest Hub Vestige.
- NG+ 0: Resets all NPC and main storyline decisions, but allows you to retain your level and items. Ideal for completionists looking to run through alternate endings, or catch up on missing NPCS for missed side content.
- New Game Plus 1: Removes some of the minor vestiges, and increases enemy difficulty,
- NG+ 2: Removes even more vestiges, retaining a very limited amount.
- NG+ 3: Removes all Vestiges, except for the Skyrest Bridge and Adyr Shrine vestige. - How the system originally worked
In addition, players can expect an NG+ Modifiers System. This is not yet out, but, it is suspected to be launched sometime before the end of 2023. The system, as described by Hexworks, says you can modify settings like the number of vestiges that get turned off, hardcore mode, item randomizers, enemy spawn randomizers, and other challenge options
