Some of the Kill Targets in Sniper Elite 5 have been a lot of fun, and while this one isn’t the worst, it is one of the easiest, and the fact the target doesn’t even have a name or back story is a bit of a shame.
He also talks with a comical French accent but either way, we need to dispatch him to the afterlife to get some rewards, so let’s investigate where to go and how to finish the job.
The Nazi spy is located within the red circle so we need to head to that location to track him down.
How To Kill the Nazi Spy In Sniper Elite 5: Rough Landing¶
Probably the best time to do this task is after you have collected the third workbench as it is very close to his location, The workbench is located in the mine depot and you will find the Nazi spy within the mine itself.
As one of the focal points of the mission map, the mine is heavily guarded, and if you get into a large firefight there is also an alarm system there that the German’s will run to and call assistance.
We would advice taking out the alarm if at all possible to reduce the chances of it becoming a free-for-all.
Once you have cleared out any remaining Germans, we can no considering going into the mine and locating the spy.
The first thing you will notice is that there are two mine shafts. One contains two guards and a long drop down the shaft itself, while the second will have a guard before you stumble across a conversion with the spy and a German Officer deep underground near a subsurface lake.

It is worth mentioning at this point if you kill the spy with an explosion rather than just shooting him, you will complete the Kill Challenge which will also reward you with a bayonet for the new Mosin-Nagant Sniper rifle you also got as part of this DLC pack, or your Sniper Elite 5 Season 2 pass.
Listen in on the conversation between the pair and after it they will both continue to meander around waiting to be killed.
We chose to take out the spy first and then shoot the officer as he runs off trying to escape.
(1 of 4) Hiding in the dark behind the rock gives you a perfect spot to throw your grenade from.
Now as we want to kill the spy with an explosion so we get the reward of the bayonet the easiest way to do this is with a simple grenade. The spy will continue to loiter near the water’s edge giving you the perfect spot to lob one at him from behind the rocks.
Just make sure you get it to land in his vicinity and he will panic and not be able to get out of the way, blowing him to smithereens.
The Officer will then try and bolt up the tunnel so you can take him out too before searching the bodies and making your own exit from the mineshaft.
