Well, you found out about Operation Kraken at the end of Mission 2, so now you need to go and find out what it actually is.
Your task here is head to the island of Beaumont-Saint-Denis and find out why the big noises in the Nazi movement are meeting there. What are they up to?
Spy Academy Objective in Sniper Elite 5¶
Starting off some distance away from the town at the end of the island you need to work your way ashore to the buildings. You can actually have quite a lot of fun sniping targets from your starting location until you start to run low on ammo. You can make your future life considerably easier by clearing the beach and even some of the promenade areas here. Watch out for the glint from sniper’s scopes - there are quite a few here and it is better you deal with them sooner rather than later.
Eventually you will need to make your way to the town, work your way through the maze of buildings (it’s a huge, warren of a map, the most confusing in the entire game) to the central cathedral. You will have to climb higher than you have been in the game so far as the meeting is being held under the bell tower and it is one meeting you are desperate to listen in to!
Optional objectives¶
As ever, besides the general objectives you need to hit, there are a host of secondaries that will increase your performance score at the end. Let’s see what we have in front of us here.
Kill the spy academy instructor in Sniper Elite 5¶
This is a weird optional objective - it’s the only one of the mission and we didn’t even realize it was a thing until we literally stumbled on a room where the Nazi’s were training spies to speak perfect English. As you enter the room you will get the instruction to kill the instructor and from then on you will be under attack
Some of these guys are pretty tough so you will have to be on your game, but once you have killed them all, including the instructor, you will complete this optional objective.
Kill List - Fabien Richter¶
Find and Kill Fabien Richter
Fabien is not long for this world if you have anything to do with it. He is a nasty piece of work, even by Nazi standards and you will get that certain satisfaction by removing him from this mortal coil, sooner rather than later.
