There is a new DLC mission for the excellent Sniper Elite 5 and so, with the inevitability of a Karl Fairburne bullet to the temple, it means we have three new Stone Eagles to find on quite a large map.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you didn’t have to tramp the length and breadth of it to get all your targets. You know what? You might just be able to.
Where To Find The Stone Eagles In Rough Landing¶
Rough Landing is a strange map. There is tons to do on it and lots of places to hide Stone Eagles and this is what Rebellion has done - however there is a large railway bridge as a centerpiece of the map, and it just so happens - if you know what you are looking for - you can hit all three Stone Eagles from exactly the same spot - yes you read that correctly. If you find the right spot on the bridge you can take out all three without moving - which seems a bit insane, and was possibly not the intention. Ah well, let’s go bird spotting shall we?
Rough Landing Stone Eagle 1¶
Once you are at the railway bridge and have cleared off the guards along the way you have as much time as you like to pick off the Eagles, the first of which is virtually under your feet.
Had to the section where you can see under the bridge - you can see where it is in the screenshot and look for the bushes. Scope around there and you will soon get a lock on the target and can shoot the Stone Eagle in the back of the head.
Rough Landing Stone Eagle 2¶
Without moving an inch you can now seek out Stone Eagle number 2. Facing out from the bridge in the same direction as you just took the shot on the first Eagle look for the Church. To the right of the church you should see a house. This is where we are going to focus our search.
You will need to use your binoculars or rifle scope to find this one. Simply track along the lower rooftop until you get the message that you have tagged it, and from there you can take your second shot. Simple.
Rough Landing Stone Eagle 3¶
Now you can definitely get this third shot from the same location but this Stone Eagle can be tricky to tag if you aren’t scoping exactly the right place. Check out the first image below to see where you need to be and the exactly part of the bridge you need to look through.
Use the fir tree that is leaning slightly as your guide and look for the branch you can see in the screenshot above. With tiny movements you should soon be able to get the tag on the target and loose off a shot to hit it.
That’s all three Stone Eagles from the same spot. Impressive.
