Looking more like a toy, the Welrod was designed for Allied Special ops and designed for killing at close-quarters. Easily the quietest weapon in the game, you will find however it is only really useful close to your target.
The Welrod can be modded extensively to make it a more versatile killing device, but that kind of takes away what it is good at, and that is dealing death without anybody knowing what’s going on. Add a suppressor to make it even quieter.
Welrod Pros and Cons¶
If you want to play the stealth game, and let’s face it, of course you do, then the Welrod is the go-to sidearm of choice. It was designed especially for special ops teams to carry old clandestine work and it really shouldn’t be used for anything else.
Pros¶
- Very quiet gunshots
Cons¶
- Very slow bolt action
Audible Range¶
Oh come on. Just 14m> And that’s without a suppression system on board. The Welrod can take somebody out without the guy standing around the corner hearing, and in this game, that can be worth its weight in gold.
Zoom¶
1x - All the pistols here are only coming with 1x zoom so it really isn’t a factor. The way you are using them, you probably want to be shooting from the hip rather than looking down the sight anyway.
Magazine size¶
An 8-clip magazine gives the Welrod one extra shot than the other starting gun, the M1911, and you may well need that extra slug to finish off your mark unless you are close by to them.
How to get the Welrod in Sniper Elite 5¶
Unlocked at the start of the game.
