Description¶
This page offers an overview of Bowser Jr.’s Airship Armada. Bowser’s Jr.’s Airship Armada is located in the Kitchen dome and costs 23 Power Stars to unlock. This is the final galaxy of the Kitchen dome and you when you complete Sinking the Airships you will gain a Grand Star.
Sinking the Airships¶
This level has you travelling from one Airship to another until to face Bowser Jr.’s Airship and defeat him to get the Grand Star.
Enemies¶

Octoguys - Octoguys will throw rocks at Mario that you’ll need to avoid. You can easily defeat them by spin attacking or jumping.

Electrogoombas - Electrogoombas are like normal Goombas except they’ll electrocute you if they run into you. To defeat them, either jump on their head or spin attack them and run into them whilst they’re incapacitated to boot them into the void.

Goombas - Goombas will simply run at you and try to damage you by touching Mario. To defeat them, spin attack them then run at them to kick them away, or just jump on their head.

Floating Mines - The Spiky mines are inanimate but will damage you if you touch them.

Sentry Beams - Sentry Beams are robots that will attack you by firing a concentrated laser at you. They cannot be destroyed but can be temporarily stopped if you stand on top of them.

Magikoopas - Magikoopas will be found on a few of the airships in this level. When alone they will tend to stay in their own area of the airship. Causing their projectiles to have a limited range. They can be defeated by throwing a singular Koopa Troopa shell.

Bullet Bills - These Bullet Bills will lock onto you and fly towards you if they spot you. The best way to defeat them in this level is to guide them into flying towards any object.

Wigglers - When wigglers are yellow, they move slowly. But if you jump on their heads, they’ll turn red and move very quickly. If they run into you, you’ll be damaged. To defeat them, you can either spin to incapacitate them and then jump on them, or jump on them twice in a row.

Mandibugs - Mandibugs will charge at you, but cannot move sideways. To defeat them, you’ll need to groundpound them.

Cannonballs - Cannonballs are moving hazards that will damage you if you touch them. They will usually be slow moving and you can slip past them. However, this can be more difficult when there a greater numbers.

Spranglers - Spranglers are spidery monsters that hang from a spider web. To defeat them, you’ll need to spin attack them twice.
- Koopa Troopas - Koopa Troopas wont attack you if they see you, but instead will stay on their set path and walk backwards and forwards. They are slow moving and can be defeated by jumping on them leaving their shells to be used as projectiles.
Boss Enemy - Bowser Jr.¶
Once you reach the final Airship, Bowser Jr. will appear on his own Airship. He will then proceed to attack you with Cannonballs and gradually more projectiles after each time you hit him.

Cannonballs - As Bowser Jr.’s Airship will be broadside he will be firing a constant stream of Cannonballs from the central cannon. Due to their speed they are avoidable but with their large numbers they can prove to be a inconvenience as they hinder you mobility. They will inflict damage if they hit you.

Bullet Bills - He will fire a of Bullet Bills from each of his cannons and they can home in on you. To avoid them it is best to head towards the high end of the ship on the left or the right as they will likely collide with the side of the Airship.

Fireballs - After being hit three times Bowser Jr. will turn the Airship towards you and begin shooting fireballs from the Bowser face at the front. The fireballs will come at you in waves of three. They can be easily avoided as they gradually disperse the further they go.
To inflict damage on Bowser Jr. you have to use the Koopa Troopas on the Airship. You jump on them which allow you to pick uo their shells and then throw them at Bowser Jr’s Airship. You will need to hit Bowser Jr.’s Airship five times to defeat him. After you defeat him you gain a Grand Star, which will unlock the next dome!
