Description¶

This page offers a guide on all of the Blue Coins that you can find scattered in the hub area of Delfino Plaza.

Blue Coin #1¶

The first Blue Coin can be found by climbing the roofs across the canal and heading to the side of the large building in the northwest of the Plaza. Look up to spot some “M” graffiti and spray it with your FLUDD to reveal the Coin.

Blue Coin #2¶

Makre your way over to where the Boathouse is on the west side of Plaza Delfino and then climb to the rooftops once more. You’ll find a large crate against the wall, Ground Pound it to reveal more “M” graffiti which when removed, will reveal a Coin.

Blue Coin #3¶

As with the previous Coin, make your way to the front of the Shine Gate on the canal and on the east side you’ll find another large crate against the wall. Use your Ground Pound to break it and then remove the “M” graffiti to reveal the Coin.

Blue Coin #4¶

Climb on top of the roofs to the west of the Shine Gate and then look to the north to spot some land you can hover over too where a sewer awaits. Use the Ground Pound to access the sewer and then continue along until you can head left and under the Shine Gate to reach a larger area. From here, continiue to the northwest close to where you first entered the sewer to spot the Coin.

Blue Coin #5¶

From where you start every time you return to Delfino Plaza, the square (and entrance to Bianco Hills), return southwest and you’ll find a sewer entrance in the middle of the street. Enter it with a Ground Pound and then follow it right to a fork and then head down to find yourself under the canal. Continue heading to the southwest here and eventually, close to the Shine Gate, you’ll find a Coin.

Blue Coin #6¶

Make your way to the Boathouse and look to the north to spot a sewer entrance on a platform that is only accessible by jumping over to it. Use Ground Pound and then follow it to the first fork where you’ll want to head down to another fork, this time taking the upper path to the end where the Coin awaits.

Blue Coin #7¶

Climb on top of the rooftops on the west side of the Plaza and face the Shine Gate. Wait until you spot a blue bird flying about and then use FLUDD to splash it, causing a Blue Coin to materialize.

Blue Coin #8¶

Like the previous Blue Coin, make your way to the roof in the Square (where the entrance to Bianco Hills is) and wait for a blue bird to fly past. Use the FLUDD to splash it, causing the next Blue Coin to appear.

Blue Coin #9¶

For the next set of Blue Coins, you’ll need to find specific fruit and place them into the baskets scattered around the Plaza. To begin with, go to where you can see the Shine Gate and turn around to find a basket with a Pinata next to it. Speak to the Pinata and she’ll task you with finding three Bananas. Now head to the east of the Plaza, near where you entered Delfino Plaza for the first time and you’ll find a shop with Bananas outside. Use the Y button to pick one up and take it around the corner to the basket and drop it in. Repeat this three times for a Blue Coin.

Blue Coin #10¶

Make your way to the east of the Shine Gate and you’ll spot another Pinata near a basket suspended in the air. Speak to her and she’ll task you with tracking down three Pineapples and tossing them into the baskets. You’ll find these Pineapples on the same street as the Bananas so head there to collect them and then get a run up and use a triple jump to reach the edge of the basket where you can drop them in. Once you’ve done this three times, speak to the Pinata to collect your payment.

Blue Coin #11¶

Make your way to the island to the west of the Boathouse and you’ll find a lonely Pinata who tasks you with providing three Coconuts via the basket. You’ll find these nearby, in the trees but you’ll have to climb to the top and then use the Hover from FLUDD above it to knock them down. They’ll respawn a shortly after depositing each Coconut so you don’t need to go searching elsewhere. Once three are in the basket, speak to her again and you’ll score another Blue Coin.

Blue Coin #12¶

The final fruit gathering task can be started by heading to the west of the Shine Gate where another Pinata is waiting near a basket, this time the task is for three Durians. This is a little trickier as Mario can’t pick these up, you’ll have to rely on kicking them and the nearest Durian can be found near the Boathouse. In order to kick it over the canal, you’ll want to switch to FLUDD’s hover mode and use it as you approach it, this will kick it high in the air. Upon delivering three, speak to the Pinata again to complete her request.

Blue Coin #13¶

Make your way to the prison in the southeast, where Mario was imprisoned at the start of the adventure, to find a Blue Coin. In order to reach it, head around the back and use FLUDD’s hover mode to enter through the opening.

Blue Coin #14¶

Once you’ve revealed the Pianta statue in the Square and gained access to Bianco Hills, you’ll spot an X on one side of it. Simply spray this with FLUDD to cause a Blue Coin to materialize nearby. Quickly run off towards the Boathouse and then turn left to find the Blue Coin on the edge of the pier.

Blue Coin #15¶

As you collect the last Blue Coin, wait for the X to appear on the wall and then blast is with FLUDD to cause another Blue Coin to materialize at the other end, the Pinata statue in the Square (where you sprayed the X for the previous Coin).

Blue Coin #16¶

Once you unlock Gelato Beach, you can find a Pianta running back and forth near the beach on the eastern side of Delfino Plaza. You will need to douse these flames and whenever he is standing still, talk to him to be awarded a Blue Coin.

Blue Coin #17¶

In order to get this Blue Coin and the next, you will have to need Yoshi in Delfino Plaza, whom you get after clearing Pinna Park Episode 4 and freeing the Yoshi egg from Shadow Mario’s grasp. After giving the egg its desired fruit, you will be able to ride Yoshi. Head on over to the police station and get on top of the roof, where you should see a small tower. On the back of this tower is some orange goop, which only melts away from Yoshi’s spit. Once you get rid of it, you will find the Blue Coin.

Blue Coin #18¶

In the northwestern portion of town, there is a very high tower that has a thin ledge circling around it that leads to the top. At the top of this tower is some more orange goop that requires Yoshi to dissolve it. You can shoot the goop from a nearby building, then ditch Yoshi and climb to the top to reach the Blue Coin it was hiding.

Blue Coin #19¶

You will need the Turbo Nozzle for this Blue Coin, which is unlocked after freeing Yoshi and collecting at least 25 Shine Sprites. The Blue Coin is located at the base of one of the pillars just off the coast from the entrance to Gelato Beach. There will be some wooden doors that you have to blast through with the Turbo Nozzle, with the Blue Coin behind it.
