Ancestor Skills are powerful abilities that are unique in the world of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. You get these by interacting with Tarsyu, a giant flowering plant that unlocks not only a new skill, but also skill points. The Eject Ancestor Skill is a powerful ability that allows you to fight AMD (aka Mech) suits in a new way. Once you get it in a distressed state, by either stunning it with a grenade or hacking it with your SID, you can melee it to pull the pilot out of the cockpit.
Where to Find the Eject Ancestor Skill¶
You won’t be able to find this Ancestor Skill until you’ve finished the Becoming main story mission. That’s because prior to finishing it, you will be restricted to where you can go on the world map. Once you have and started The Aranahe Clan mission, you can start heading west, uncovering more areas of the Kinglor Forest. Eventually, you may find a Na’vi Camp, called Weaver’s Flourish, which is a good starting point for finding this Tarsyu and is located in the Silk Woods section. Just south of that small camp is The Threaded River, and if you follow it west a little bit, you should see what looks like a series of floating rocks.
That’s the base for where the Tarsyu is located, but it’s at the top, so you will need to find a way to reach it. Luckily, it’s a pretty simple little jumping puzzle here. By where the tower is found, look for some rocks that you can jump on, which will be the starting point. Continue jumping to higher rocks and eventually, you will see some roots connecting to higher spots. Don’t forget that you get a higher jump by holding down the jump button first, then letting go.
At some point, you should see a large mushroom, called a Speckled Mushroom. The in-game description says this can act as a natural trampoline, but it’s not going to bounce you up to the Tarsyu. Instead, you can use this to jump down after you grab the skill. Continue jumping up the floating-like platforms and upon reaching the top, interact with the Tarsyu to unlock the Eject Ancestor Skill. As mentioned above, you can jump down onto the mushroom mentioned to get down a little more quickly, then just retrace your steps to get back to the ground.
