In Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII: Reunion, the DMW plays a large role in combat. When the reels stop on the same image three times, you’ll get a limit break or summon. This page will tell you how to get the Ifrit Summon.

Ifrit | Deals magic defense-ignoring damage to all enemies present. |
At the end of Chapter 1, you will fight Ifrit in a boss battle, although you don’t get him there. You will have to wait until Chapter 2 in order to obtain his image for the DMW. Thankfully, you won’t have to do much to actually unlock it, so it’s not too much of a challenging task.
How to Unlock Ifrit in Crisis Core Reunion¶
At the beginning of Chapter 2, you will finally unlock a bunch of new Missions that you can do from a save point. One of these missions is 8-1-1, which pits you in a rematch against Ifrit. This fight is the same as the boss battle at the end of Chapter 1, except Ifrit might be a tiny bit stronger than then. If you had trouble during that battle, here are some strategies to help with the fight.
- If you have the Fire Armlet from doing the Hero of the Wutai War? trophy, then that cuts down on the damage done by Flame Shot and Hellfire.
- Try to avoid being too close to Ifrit, as his melee attacks are quite quick, especially the kick one.
- Blizzard is great for this battle, as Ifrit takes double damage from it.
- Attack relentlessly when you see the meter appear, as Ifrit is preparing for Hellfire.
Defeating Ifrit in this mission will unlock him for use in the DMW. Note that actually getting Ifrit to appear in the DMW is random, so you will just have to get lucky. However, you can actually get a materia later in the game that increases the chance for Ifrit to appear on the DMW. You can get a Hellfire Materia as a reward for completing Mission 9-5-5, or buy it from the Bone Village Commerce shop.
