Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII: Reunion

How to Increase Accessory Slots in Crisis Core Reunion

By
Jarrod Garripoli

Equipment can be a powerful tool for you in Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII: Reunion, as some accessories can provide such a huge benefit, especially later in the game. However, you only start the game with two accessory slots and must unlock the other two. This page will detail how to unlock the two additional accessory slots in Crisis Core Reunion.

Accessories are extremely powerful in Crisis Core Reunion, especially as you get ones later in the games that take the function of multiple other accessories. Of course, you only start with two accessory slots, with the other two slots requiring you to unlock them. Both will become unlocked via two different Key Items, the "Keychain" iconKeychain and the "Backpack" iconBackpack. Thankfully, both of them come from the same mission set, so you won’t have to do too much to get them.

How to Unlock the Keychain in Crisis Core Reunion

(1 of 3) This is the mission that rewards you the Keychain

Before doing anything, you will have to wait until you reach Chapter 4 of the main story, which is when you first meet Aerith. As soon as you can access the save point here, you will see some missions become available. Of particular interest is Mission 7-2-1: Search and Destroy, as that will be the start of the chain that allows you to unlock both key items mentioned previously. The first mission is as equally important as the others, though, as it unlocks the ability to use items during Materia Fusion. Complete the first mission to unlock the second one, which has the Keychain as the reward, unlocking the third Accessory slot. You shouldn’t really have much trouble with that one, although you are facing one of those "Arachno" iconArachno mechs at the end, so make sure you stay out of its EM Field attack.

How to Unlock the Backpack in Crisis Core Reunion

At this point in the game, you should have unlock the "Darkness" iconDarkness Materia, as well as gotten stuff like the HP+ Materia to get yourself some much better HP values. You will likely be needing stronger offensive options as you continue down the same mission chain as above. You’ll need to get to the fifth mission, Mission 7-2-5, in order to procure the Backpack. The fourth mission will introduce Death Claws, who are quick enemies and likely to survive a Darkness. The fifth mission, the one you need to clear, will have two "Gargoyle" iconGargoyles and an "Ahriman" iconAhriman as the final enemies. The Ahriman can use Curse Gaze (this ailment will stop your DMW from working), as well as "Thundaga" iconThundaga.

(1 of 3) The mission that unlocks the Backpack key item

The Gargoyles know both "Firaga" iconFiraga and Thundaga, plus they also have "Barrier" iconBarrier and "Cura" iconCura. If you’re using Darkness, then Barrier presents no challenge, as that skill bypasses defenses. If you’re quick enough, you should be able to finish off the trio before they really do much of anything. If you feel like you need some extra time, just wait until one of the enemies misses their attack before unleashing more attacks of your own.
