There are lots of Materia to track down in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and they all offer unique abilities, such as Time which gives you access to useful skills like Haste, Slow, and Stop. On this page, we’ll provide you with the necessary steps to finding the Time Materia and how to best use it.
Time Materia Location in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth¶
The Time Materia can be acquired by acquiring Rank III (15,000 points) in the Brigantine Stage of Pirate’s Rampage which becomes available when you reach Costa del Sol in Chapter 6. However, this can be quite challenging as you’ll need to make sure you focus on the correct targets to obtain as many points as possible in each round, so check out our Pirate’s Rampage Guide for tips. You can also get a Time Materia by completing the Nibel Region Intel: Level 1 in the Combat Simulator which becomes available after you’ve battled 20 enemies in the Nibel region. Alternatively, you can just purchase the Time Materia from a Materia Vendor for 5,000 Gil in the later chapters.
How to Use the Time Materia in FF7 Rebirth¶
With the Time Materia in your possession, head on over to the Materia & Equipment Option in the menu and equip it to any of the characters who are in your main party. This will give you access to some useful spells such as Haste, Slow, and Stop and these will become extremely useful in some of the battles in the later chapters. If you don’t have access to the higher level version of Time Materia, then you can temporarily increase its level by linking it to a Level Boost Materia or equip Time Materia Earrings, earned in the Chocobo Races at the Gold Saucer.
How Does Haste, Slow, and Stop Work?¶
Haste will increase the rate at which the ATB gauge fills which will be useful when trying to stagger enemies as you’ll be able to use powerful attacks in quick succession. Slow will decrease the rate at which enemies use special attacks which is good to use against fast moving fiends such as wolves. Stop will allow you to halt all of your opponent’s movement and actions which makes them vulnerable to your attacks for a short amount of time.
