Balagrae Roman Barracks¶
The last quest in the northwest is back in the Green Mountains, near Balagrae. From there, head north to reach the Balagrae Roman Barracks, which you operated near, but haven’t cleared… until now. The Balagrae Roman Barracks is a relatively small fort, with walls that are far greater than an enemy camp this size deserves. Still, the walls make an easy assault even easier, as you can probably shave off a few of the camp’s small garrison by simply running the walls, then take care of the rest with takedowns from above and archery. Once the barracks is clear, go up some stairs opposite the main (southern) gate, enter the building via its northern side, descend some stairs, then loot a large red chest.

Clearing the area is all well and good, but what of the quest? Well, in the cellar where you found the large red chest you’ll find a caged man named Gupta, who babbles incessently about not betraying some “black land”… by which of course he means Egypt. Gupta was one of the prisoners listed in the note Apollodorus’ Agents in Kyrenaika , which you should have recovered at the end of “ His Secret Service “. Free him and escort him out of the barracks (and a fair distance down the road) before you’ll be able to talk to him. After the short chat, this quest will end.
