If you want to 100% Dead Island 2, then you need to do all the side content, including the missing-person quests. Many of these can be found at the Sterling Hotel, but Missing: Shane can be tricky to start as you have to complete another quest before it pops up. The guide below goes over how to start Missing: Shane and how to complete the quest in Dead Island 2.
How to Start Missing: Shane in Dead Island 2¶
To start Missing: Shane, you will first need to complete Coast Guardian in Dead Island 2. Afterward, check the missing person’s board at the Sterling Hotel on Ocean Avenue to pick up the quest. This will send you back to Venice Beach to look for a missing lifeguard named Shane.
Where to Find Shane in Dead Island 2¶
Once you arrive at the Blue Crab, head to the lifeguard station down from the gym where you found Moose. There will be several zombies surrounding the station. Wipe them out and use the crate on the side to climb up and turn the generator off. You will find a note inside, sending you to the next lifeguard station directly across from you on the beach. This station is also surrounded by zombies. You will need to find and kill Nell. She will have a note talking about Shane’s next moves.
The note will lead you to the Lifeguard Headquarters in Santa Monica. Use the Blue Crab to travel fast to the building and hop down. You will need to take out Dante if you already haven’t to make the mission easier for you. Run to the back of the station towards the beach. Here you will find an Inferno Crusher named TJ.
Once you defeat TJ, he will drop a note that tells you about Shane escaping on a boat. The quest will now be complete.
