The Resurrect the Rex side quest in Dead Island 2 can be acquired in Beverly Hills after you meet Rikky and Roxanne for the first time. Once you’ve secured their house by locking the gates to the yard using batteries, you should be able to speak with Rikky to begin this quest. If you’re not able to immediately, you may need to wait a while or run away from the house and then back to it first. You can usually find Rikky sitting on a couch inside.
Where to Find the Gods and Whiskey Master Tapes in Farouk’s House¶
How to Get Inside Farouk’s House in Dead Island 2¶
Once you’ve spoken to Rikky about the Gods and Whiskey master tapes, make your way to the house of the music producer, Farouk, which is located just north of Rikky’s house. When you arrive you’ll find that the entrance to the house is locked, but you can jump over a van if you approach from the southwest. Once you’re inside the grounds, you’ll need to kill a few zombies in the area to acquire the keys to the house.

Location of the First Master Tape¶
Now that you’re inside the house, you’ll find Farouk as a zombie feasting on a corpse in the middle of the room on the first floor. You need to kill him and any other zombies in the room, then pick up the master tape from the floor, near where you found Farouk.
The first master tape can be found on the floor here, next to Farouk.
Location of the Second Master Tape¶
To find the second master tape, you’ll need to head upstairs where you’ll find a bunch of zombies on the other side of the glass. You can kill all of these at once if you pick up the nearby battery and throw it on the ground in front of the glass. This should start a fire which will eventually cause an explosion, killing most of the zombies. Once you’ve dealt with them, you can break the glass to the balcony to find the master tape on its right side.

Location of the Third Master Tape¶
The third master tape can be found on the landing down one flight of stairs from the area where you found all the zombies on the balcony. You’ll notice part of the stairway is electrically charged, so you need to cut the power by interacting with the nearby generator on the other side of the stairs. Once you’ve done that, wait a while for the electricity to disperse, or throw the nearby fuel can on it to speed the process up, then you can loot the master tape in peace.

Bring the Master Tapes Back to Rikky¶
Now that you’ve acquired all three Gods and Whiskey master tapes, all you need to do is bring them back to Rikky at the house south of Farouk’s to complete the quest.
