This page offers a guide on how to complete the Boz Makes a Bang side quest in Monarch Studios in Dead Island 2.
How to Start Boz Makes a Bang Side Quest¶
To begin this quest, you’ll need to listen to the radio in the lobby of the Serling Hotel in Ocean Avenue after you’ve completed the Plumbing the Depths story quest.
After speaking with Hana on the radio, you’ll need to travel to Monarch Studios to locate Boz!
Where to Find Boz¶
You’ll find Boz in Stage Room 05, which is at the center of Monarch Studios. Before you can speak to him you’ll need to clear out a few zombies. Then, you’ll find him on a balcony above a war themed studio room.
He’ll ask you to help him test out some pyrotechnics/explosive stuff at the top of the fort set.
Have Fun with Mortars in the Fort¶
After speaking with Boz you’ll need to make your way up to the top of the fort set, where you’ll find three sets of controls that blow up explosives set in different parts of the set. When you blow up the first one it’ll (naturally) attract a whole host of zombies. You can use the explosive controls to blow up a ton of the zombies but the controls are on a cool down so you won’t be able to use them that often. Try to time the explosives to get the most out of them!
Guns and curveballs are definitely the way to go with this fight. You’ll want to shoot as many of the zombies as possible before they reach the top of the fort. It’s not the end of the world if they do reach the top but you may find yourself quickly overwhelmed if zombies come up both sides of the hill! If you run out of ammo you’ll want to stand next to one of the path up to the top of the fort (left or right) and deal with the zombies as they come. Then, try to use AoE damage to clear out several zombies at once, and wait for Boz’s signal that the explosions are ready again!
In this pile of zombies that you’ll need to deal with in this scenario you’ll find two Crushers, several runners, grenadiers, walkers and shamblers. The grenadiers can be used to deal with the other zombies if you cause them to explode next to other enemies. The Crushers’ tankiness might prove challenging and they may well reach the top of the fort. If you do find yourself taking a lot of damage there are tons of energy drinks and snacks on the left and right wall!
How to Unlock Military Grenades in Dead Island 2¶
Once you’ve finally ploughed through all the enemies, speak to Boz to finish the quest! You’ll unlock Military Grenades and 3,000 XP.
