Dead Island 2

Scooped

By
Jessica Dillon

There are many side quests in Dead Island 2, and if you want to 100% the game, then you are going to need to complete them all. Several of the side quests won’t unlock until you are in the later hours of the game and contain some rather annoying enemies to deal with. Scooped is one such quest, as just figuring out where to start it can be a tricky task. The guide below goes over how to start and complete the Scooped side quest in Dead Island 2.

Helping out Esta in Scooped.

How to Start Scooped in Dead Island 2

You will be able to start Scooped after you unlock the Ocean Avenue area and have completed Boardwalk of The Dead. To get the quest, simply run around near the LA 24 News office near the center of the city area. There you will hear a plea for help, telling you that there are survivors stuck inside the office. You will want to go in front of the building and climb up some scaffolding. At the end of it, you will find a breakable window, use it to climb inside, and officially get the quest started.

How to Complete Scooped in Dead Island 2

Once you are on the first floor, head into the room on the right side of the building. The studio will have stairs leading to the second floor, proceed up them and walk all the way around. Grab the skill card off the table on your way around and keep proceeding forward. You will find a dead crew member with a keycard lying next to him. Pick it up to gain access to the area where the survivors are hiding.

Grab the keycard to proceed further into the quest.

You will want to head to the newsroom and go downstairs to speak with Esta. She will send you to the basement to get the news servers back online. Head out the door, down the hallway, and then proceed down the flight of stairs to the basement. There will be a couple of zombies down here and a leak that has been electrified.

Follow the yellow cord to turn off the generator.

Turn off the generator to make the walkway safe, and open the door to let the Shocker "Walker" iconWalker out. You can use curveballs to easily deal with him without taking too much damage. Once you’re in the room, you simply need to boot up three computers, these are easy to spot, and you don’t need to worry about any zombies until they are all online. Once everything is up and running, you will need to sprint back up the stairs to witness a zombie dragging a body. After following it for a few seconds, you will be told to head back to the newsroom to fight a "Butcher" iconButcher.

Butcher zombie in the newsroom.

Use curveballs and fast weapons to counter him, and be sure to hit him immediately if he starts trying to feast on bodies. This will keep him from healing. Once you defeat the first Butcher, two more will spawn in. Use the same strategy to defeat them. Once this is over, speak with the girls in the newsroom to finish the quest. For a bit more lore, you can teleport to the Blue Crab to hear a bit more about the journalist’s next moves.
