Armadillo Avenue, Sandy Shores | 500 |
This race takes place around the shores of Sandy Shores lake. You will cover around half of the lake, circling the edges.
There are a number of obstacles scattered throughout the course, notably people and debris from the sea. At each checkpoint you must keep your eyes ahead so you can safely pass around the various obstacles in your path.
At the second checkpoint, swerve to the right a little to avoid the load of wood. Avoid the telephone poles too! The course will take you between a load of other bits of wood and broken huts so stay in the centre. You will soon come to a bit of a jump. Keep to the right because otherwise you will smack right into a telephone pole near the water’s edge. You can cut through the water here to the next checkpoint.
Keep pushing hard on the accelerator as you skirt around the edge of the lake and through brushland. Be aware when the course turns onto the road and over a bridge. Watch out for the deer that can sometimes be around too. The final stretch leads you back onto the dirt near the water and then it rejoins the road to go over a bridge and to the finish line.
