Circuit Boards are an item in MW3 Zombies that players will find along their travels. These items are relatively useless unless you are doing the Automated Backup mission. From then on, finding these becomes a needle in a haystack, with players challenged heavily to loot and clear objectives to activate several turrets in MW3 Zombies mode. Here are some tips and tricks on finding Ammo Mod Circuit Boards in MW3 Zombies, and completing the Automated Backup Mission.
How to Get Ammo Mod Circuit Boards in MW3 Zombies¶
To get Ammo Mod Circuit Boards in MW3 Zombies mode, players need to farm lots of lootables. Here are the locations we recommend visiting the most:
- Aether Nests
- Infected Strongholds
- Merc Strongholds
- Listening to beeping sounds as you explore
The thing that all of the above locations have in common is Mercenary Caches. These types of chests are the beeping chests, or the chests covered in an Aether crust, depending on where you are. Caches tend to offer higher-tier materials for ammo mods, guns, weapon upgrades, and other desirable equipment. This includes finding the Circuit Board Ammo Mods. So, look for these types of objectives on the map, destroy some Mercenary Convoys, or go to a Buy Station and get a Merc Keycard, or raid other locations on the map and loot them. Remember to get Gas Masks through buy stations or through generic loot drops to keep your supplies stocked up for an Aether Nest or Infected Stronghold raids. Otherwise, your vision will get worse and worse until you start having serious complications progressing further or in the open world for a considerable amount of time.
When you find an Ammo mod, you will then need to use it on one of the Deadbolt turrets you find on your Tac-Map. Go to one that isn’t activated, install one of your Ammo Mod Circuit Boards, and then check off the objectives one at a time. Note that each ammo mod operates slightly differently and is essentially the same as the gun ammo mods you get, albeit for turrets.
It is worth noting that the Ammo Circuit Mods do not transfer to the inventory after extracting. So, you will need to get a mod and go straight into the Deadbolt Turrets and activate them as often as you can. It will likely take a few attempts to get this challenge done, but, it is one that you can do and will succeed if you’re patient or lucky enough.
