Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is a mobile remake of the Final Fantasy VII series and there was more news in the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration stream. This page will detail everything you need to know about the game.
When does Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Release?¶
We don’t have an exact date for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis yet, but Square Enix have announced that it will begin the closed beta test for service of the game later this year. We imagine this will run for some time before the game enters full service across all regions but check back regularly where we’ll post all updates related to the release date.
What do we know about Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis?¶
The latest trailer for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, shown at Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration stream gave us a bit more insight into what to expect from the game. To begin with, this is a mobile only game available on iOS and Android that will have a closed beta test sometime later this year. The game will be free to play and of course, with that, comes the form of monetization via microtransactions.
Based on the footage we’ve seen so far; it appears that you can change the costumes of the cast so perhaps that may be one direction they may decide to monetize. Alternatively, Square Enix’s previous mobile Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition, was also free to play but players were required to purchase later story chapters, this could be another route that Square Enix may pursue.
The story will be told across the Final Fantasy VII story, starting with Before Crisis, through Final Fantasy VII and eventually the sequels that came from the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII such as Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus. What’s interesting about Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is that it’s using a different artstyle, instead opting for a visual style that is closer to the PlayStation original rather than the realistic take from the Remake. The battles, however, will feature a style a lot closer to the Remake’s, giving a unique look at the Final Fantasy VII story that can stand alongside Remake.
How to Sign Up for the Final Fantasy VII Closed Beta Test¶
As of right now, there is no way to sign up for the upcoming closed beta test that was announced on the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Celebration stream and there is no app to preorder or follow on iOS or Android. Seeing as Square Enix aims to hold the closed beta test before the end of the year, and how much they showed off in the latest trailer, we’re expecting the sign ups to begin shortly, and you’ll find all of the details here once that goes live.
