This is a vastly important Materia that you’ll want to keep set for the majority of the game. You’ll often come across enemies that will buff their defense so using Breach to remove this is beneficial. As you reach the later parts of the game, you’ll notice enemies using Haste more often so Dispel comes in use here however both spells require 2 ATB to use them. Another use for this Materia is the fact that it boosts Instant Death Resistance when paired with Warding so should you take the time to level Warding then you’ll have a much easier time with Tonberries.
