This page will detail how to defeat all of the Rank 5 opponents of Fort Condor on Hard Mode. Fort Condor is a new mini-game found in the INTERmission DLC for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.
How to unlock Rank 5¶
Rank 5 is the name given to the Fort Condor matches when playing on the Hard Mode difficulty. This means you’ll have to complete the Main Scenario of Final Fantasy VII Remake INTERmission and then use Chapter Select to replay Chapter 1 on Hard Mode. Although it’s not required to beat the Grandmaster, Chadley on Normal/Easy, it’s suggested to do so because you’ll want the Grandmaster Board that will make life a lot easier for these battles.
How to defeat all Opponents¶
Unlike Normal/Easy mode, where there were certain strategies to use against each opponent due to the limited Units or Boards available to you, you can use a single setup for all of the matches, including Chadley. It may take a few attempts at each, to get used to where to place your units but this setup has been tested and proven successful for all matches.
This particular setup is ideal for all of the matches due to its quick speed.

The main rule change with Rank 5 is that you can no longer win by simply taking out an Outpost and waiting for the time to run out. This will result in a failure, instead you must take out the Headquarters to win. With that in mind, your goal should be to use your Guard Dogs to drive the playing field back towards your opponent’s base while taking out either the left or right Outpost first. Supplement your Guard Dogs and Shock Troopers with the Blast-Ray and Armored Shock Troopers, high HP Units that can take a lot of beating.
Grandmaster Chadley¶
When you reach Chadley, the Grandmaster, you’ll want to begin by following these key steps. While your Guard Dog and Shock Troopers are dealing with the left or right outpost, place your Armored Shock Trooper and Blast-Rays in the center to deal with all of the Barracks Units that Chadley continues to place. Your Materia usage is also key on your path to victory, using Aero and Thunder to ideally hit two Barracks at once is of the utmost importance and then when your group finally reaches the Headquarters, careful placement of Stop will pause everything long enough for you to defeat it and win the match.

Rewards¶
There are many reasons to undertake the Rank 5 battles on Hard Mode, you’ll receive a Manuscript for both Yuffie and Sonon upon victory for every match. This means you’ll be able to unlock Weapon Level 6 before you begin tracking Zhijie and tackling the boss of Chapter 1. On top of that, defeating all of the opponents on Hard Mode will award you the Condor Queen Trophy.
