Final Fantasy X is one of those classic games, as it was one of the first fully-voiced titles when it debuted on the Playstation 2, back in 2001. It was also the series’ first entry on the PS2, so players got to see Square’s high-quality performance continue after the Playstation’s entries. It was considered one of the best RPGs on the Playstation 2, as well as in the series, selling over 8 million copies worldwide as of 2017.
However, the original Japanese release, as well as the version that came out in North America didn’t have all of the content, since an International version was released shortly after that included a lot more stuff (Europe got the International version). It wasn’t until 2014 that North Americans would gain access to this content, with the Remaster on PS3 and Vita (and more platforms later on).
The game is truly a classic and is one of my favorite Final Fantasy titles. I truly remember playing it when it first came out in 2021, since I was in college at the time. The funny thing is that I actually chose Shadow Hearts over Final Fantasy X initially, but would go on to buy FFX not too long after the fact. While I was enamored with the battle system and world, I wasn’t too fond of the characters, but replaying it later cemented the game as one of my favorites.
