Status Ailments¶
Sometimes, your characters might receive a status ailment as a result of an enemy’s attack or a dungeon trap. Ailments generally have adverse effects on your characters and can cripple their performance in battle. Therefore, you should always aim to get rid of ailments as early as possible.
Most ailments can be cured by using recovery items from shops or healing abilities, while some ailments can disappear naturally. When you know what to expect, try to equip your characters with items or abilities that provide immunity against a specific ailment. Like they say, “prevention is better than cure”!
You can also inflict ailments yourself, via certain spells or abilities. The chance of inflicting an ailment is proportional to the user’s Intelligence stat minus the target’s Mind stat. However, be mindful that many bosses are immune to or resist ailments, so save the fun for enemy mobs insteads.
Below is a list of common status ailments.

Elemental Damage¶
In Luxendarc, there are seven elements: Fire, Water, Lightning, Wind, Earth, Light and Dark . You can add elements to your attacks by using certain abilities (such as magic spells) or by equipping elemental-based weapons. Some enemies can use elemental attacks as well.
Normally, elemental damage is nothing special. However, many enemies are weak to one (or more) elements and if you use an attack aligned with their weak element, you’ll do 1.5 times more damage compared to normal; this extra damage can really help in the long run.
However, beware that some enemies are immune to or absorb certain elements. Sadly, it’s not always obvious when an enemy has such a property. Although if you’re facing a fire-based enemy, for example, it’s likely that your fire attacks won’t leave a scratch.
Meanwhile, when your characters are on the receiving end of elemental damage, you don’t have to worry since they don’t have any innate weaknesses. Better yet, you can raise your elemental resistances via a variety of means, making elemental-based enemies easier to handle.
Below are some ways you can protect yourself from the elements.
Element | Equipment that resists | Equipment that nullifies |
---|---|---|
Fire | Flame Charm, Flame Robe | Iceflame Shield |
Water | Ice Charm, Tricorne, Viking Coat | Iceflame Shield |
Lightning | Thunder Charm | Raikiri |
Wind | Wind Charm | None |
Earth | Earth Charm | None |
Light | Light Charm | Lustrous Shield |
Dark | Dark Charm | Dark Shield |
