Bravely Second: End Layer

Throne Room

By
Vincent Lau

Showdown…?

Our heroes finally catch up to the kaiser, but not everything goes according to plan. It’s time for a battle, not with the kaiser, but his manipulative little fairy partner!

Boss: Anne

Level HP Weakness
47 50000 Fire, Bug

Who didn’t see this fight coming? Anne can use Dark Flare to strike the party with magical damage or the Pointy End to damage one without expending BP. She may also use You Sicken Me to damage the party and potentially inflict poison, before going immobile for one turn.

Her party trick is Now You See Me, where she creates five fake copies of herself. If you attack a fake, she automatically uses I’m Over Here to damage the attacker. To combat this, Examine or use a Magnifying Glass on any of the Annes. Then press Left on the Circle Pad to review the enemy stats.

If you scanned a fake, you’ll get information for all of the fakes, but not the real Anne. Or if you’re lucky to scan the real Anne, you’ll only get her information. Thus you can easily deduce which one is the real Anne. Damage the real Anne and all of her fakes will disappear.

Anne’s other trick is Superbia, which dispels your buffs and greatly increases her own offensive and defensive stats. After using this, it’s even easier to identify the real Anne, since only the real Anne receives the buffs from Superbia.

However, Superbia is dangerous because it makes You Sicken Me deal incredible damage. To counter this, you can use the Exorcist’s Purgation to remove her buffs or cast Physical Ward Mist. In addition, you can use the Exorcist’s Undo Action or Ninja’s Utsusemi to completely evade the attack.

For your own attacks, fire-based and physical attacks are recommended. You can equip the Flametongue and Flare Hatchets for innate fire-based attacks or infuse a weapon with the Hawkeye’s Firehead. Obviously the best time to attack is when Anne goes immobile.

The Aftermath

After defeating Anne, there’s nothing more you can do. Use a Teleport Stone to leave the Throne Room and you’ll be brought outside the Skyhold, next to the Rubadub. Waste no time and exit via the Rubadub. Back on the world map, land the Rubadub anywhere where there’s ground.
