Bravely Second: End Layer is the direct sequel to the acclaimed Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies by Square Enix. Like its predecessor, Bravely Second is a RPG that’s heavily influenced by the classics of yore–most notably, Square Enix’s own Final Fantasy series.
Just like those games, Bravely Second is tough, requiring a lot of careful planning and attention–even when facing standard enemies, nevermind boss fights. But it’s not simply a trek down memory lane, as the game offers many features that remind players it’s a game from 2016, not 1996.
Firstly, Bravely Second features a refreshingly flexible turn-based battle system, which–coupled with an extensive job and ability system–encourages players to experiment and strategise. In addition, one can adjust a variety of settings, such as speeding up battles or adjusting the rate of encounters.
