Resident Evil 4 Remake brings a whole host of new features to an already excellent game. The addition of Blue Request Notes are one such feature and completing them will reward you with useful items and other resources. This page focuses on a request that you will come across in Chapter 12, The Disgrace of the Salazar Family.

Deface Ramon’s portrait | Throne Room | Spinel x4 |
How to Deface the Portrait in Resident Evil 4 Remake¶
This (along with Jewel Thief that you can also pick up here) is one of the easiest requests to miss in the game. This is due to the fact that you’ll soon be reaching the point of no return for the castle section of Resident Evil 4 Remake, and you have to go off the beaten path to complete it. The request notes themselves can be easy to miss, you’ll find them on the wall at the start of Chapter 12 when taking the elevator up to the golden gondola.
Thankfully, both the Gold Chicken Egg (which you need to use for this request) and the portrait are in the same location. From where you accept the request, make your way back to the Ballroom (through the gate to the south) and take the eastern exit to return to the Antechamber, where you fought the two Garradors on your way to Ashley at the Throne Room (before Ramon had you thrown down into the mines).
There’s no Garradors to contend with this time, but there’s still a large group of Cultists to contend with. Use a Flash Grenade on any parasites you may come across and then deal with the rest before heading through the door to the Throne Room.
You didn’t have the chance to explore this area when you came here the first time, you were promptly thrown down by Ramon but this time, you’re free to explore at your own leisure. There are some goodies to loot, and a few interesting files, but your main reason for coming here is in the southwest corner near the throne. You’ll find a shrine for you to use the Cubic Device on and obtain a Gold Chicken Egg.
This may seem like an odd “treasure”, but this is vitally important. Whatever you do, DO NOT EAT the Gold Chicken Egg (which is the default option when selecting it in your inventory). If you do accidentally eat it, or your aim is off, reload your autosave which should bring you back to before you entered the room.
Instead, equip the Gold Chicken Egg, go to the northeast corner and you’ll spot the portrait of Ramon. Take aim, and toss the egg at the portrait to complete the request, simple as that.
