This page offers a guide on how to exchange the Poki currency found on the Paradise Planning island for Bells, which is the currency found on your home island.
If you haven’t started the DLC, check out our guide on how to begin Happy Home Paradise.
What is Poki?¶
Poki is the currency (money) used on the Paradise Planning island in the Happy Home Paradise DLC. Back on your home island, and in every other Animal Crossing game, Bells are the standard.
Poki can only be spent on the Paradise Planning island, and you’ll be paid Poki whenever you complete a facility or vacation home design.
Poki ABD¶
After decorating 23 Vacation Homes, the next day you enter the Paradise Planning HQ, Lottie will tell you about the new Poki ABD that can be found behind her (next to the stairs). It can be used to exchange Poki to Bells, and each day the exchange rate is changed. Usually, the exchange rate is around 100 Poki to 200 Bells, but this isn’t always the case.
If you want to become a Poki-Bell exchange pro, then you’ll only want to exchange on days where the amount of bells you get for 100 Poki is higher - anything above 250 is pretty good! Unless you’re really strapped for bells (or you don’t mind a bad trade), you’ll want to avoid trading on days when you get less than 100 Bells per 100 Poki - this is rare but it can happen! Just remember that the average exchange should be 1:2 and you’ll be good to go!
The biggest downside to the Poki ABD is that you can only trade 15,000 Poki a day, which can be a big shame on those days that you hit the exchange jackpot!
