How to Unlock Two-Story Vacation Homes

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to unlock and decorate a two-story vacation home in the Happy Home Paradise DLC.

If you haven’t started the DLC, check out our guide on how to begin Happy Home Paradise.

Lottie will ask the client if they want two-stories, but the client will always ask for your recommendation.

Unlocking a Second Story

To unlock the ability to decorate two-story vacation homes, you’ll need to design 18 Vacation Homes. Once you’ve finished your 18th vacation home, Lottie will tell you that you can now begin offering a second story to vacation homes. Second stories can be added during the initial discussion with the client, or you can talk to them whilst you’re in the middle of decorating their home and tell them you’d like to add another floor. You can also add a second story to homes you’ve previously designed - just talk to Niko and choose which house you’d like to revisit.

If you initially decide to add a second story but change your mind, then just speak to the client whilst you’re remodelling and tell them you’ve changed your mind.

Two-Story Vacation Home Ideas

You can use the second story of a vacation home for whatever you want! The most obvious use would be to give each roommate their own room. For example, we had a room share for Eloise and Lionel. Eloise wanted a relaxing reading room, whereas Lionel wanted a bathroom with multiple toilets. Having two stories was perfect for splitting off their different aesthetic design choices so that the room isn’t a mess of clashing objects.

You can also just give a singular client a vacation home with two-stories. Their furniture requirements remain the same, and you can put the required items in whichever room you’d prefer (or outside in the garden).

Let your creativity shine - the second story room can be whatever you like! So long as the required items are somewhere in the vacation home, the world is your oyster.
