House Upgrade!¶
It’s the day after you’ve paid off your 2nd loan, and your house is bigger! You now have a larger room to fit more furniture in, and you have more storage space.
New Furniture¶
Once you’ve had a peek at your new space, head to Nook’s Cranny and have a look at what they have to sell today! Remember to check the back cabinet for wallpapers and flooring. If there’s no furniture that you like, why don’t you try making your own? You can buy two new DIY Recipe sets from Nook’s Cranny.
- DIY for Beginners - This DIY set comes with a recipe for a (playable) ocarina, a hay bed, frying pan and an old-fashioned washtub. Most of these things would be better suited as outside garden decoration, though. This set costs only 480 Bells.
- Test Your DIY Skills - This set comes with some furniture suited for indoors! You’ll be given a recipe for a wooden-block chair, wooden-block bookshelf, mini DIY workbench, rocking chair and a swinging bench! This set costs 2,680 Bells.
Crafting your own furniture is a great way to fill up your home with more simple items. By now, you should have quite a few different furniture DIY recipes that you can utilise to start decorating your house. Remember, you were given loads of recipes from Nook to decorate the other island homes, you can use those too!
You can also now get DIY recipes from villagers! Twice per day (daytime and evening), you should visit villagers if they’re in their homes. Once you have three residents, they will start offering you recipes when they’re crafting in their houses.
Speak to Tom Nook¶
When you next head over to the Resident Services, Tom Nook will discuss with you the fees for your new, spacious home. He tells you that it will cost 198,000, but you can pay it back whenever you like! At this point, I would advise that you try to pay off a little bit of it everyday, so that it doesn’t feel like so much of a grind.
Try to make around 50,000 Bells everyday. This can be easily achieved from shooting yellow balloons, mining the money rock, and selling things at Nook’s Cranny! That way, it will only take you four days to pay off your next house loan!
