Description¶
Now that you’ve reserved some plots of land for new homes, you can go out to mystery islands and look for your own neighbors. You don’t have to look for new villagers, but if you want a little say in who moves to your island then this is a good way to do so. Otherwise, Nook will just invite anyone at random to fill the plots!
Finding Your New Villagers¶
To find your own villagers, you’ll need to use Nook Miles Tickets (NMTs) to go to mystery islands. You can only find potential villagers when you have empty plots on your island, though. You’ll only be able to pick one new villager a day. But you can just do this again tomorrow and the next day, until your island is full!
Dreamies¶
Some players have a set of villagers they really want to live on their island, and in the AC community, these villagers are referred to as “Dreamies”. You may or may not have dream villagers in mind for your island, but if you do then you can decide to search for those specific villagers. This is quite hard to do early in the game because you need to save up a lot of Nook Miles to buy NMTs. There are over 400 villagers, so finding your dreamies can take a lot of time. It would be advised that you are only slightly picky with your first set of villagers, but you don’t have to invite everyone you meet on islands if you don’t like their personality or appearance.
