This is a guide for the Moebius H boss fight found in Lanz’s Ascension Quest, Side Story - Lanz in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, taking place in the Cadensia Region.
How to Beat Moebius H¶
Name | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Moebius H | 48 |
Now the real fight can begin, Moebius H will put up a much tougher fight than Team Garvel. You’ll start the battle with the entire party in their Interlink, as this is just a Lv 0 Interlink, it’s in your best interest to cancel it immediately and wait for it to build up some more. Moebius H will also begin the battle with the Attack Up buff, giving her Arts that extra oomph from the get-go.
Moebius H has plenty of Arts available to her, all of them ice themed and you can learn more about them below:
- Freeze Vortex: Moebius H spins around, shooting Ice out in the process dealing moderate damage and the Freeze debuff to targets in an AoE around her.
- Ice Maiden: Moebius H rises into the air and shoots an icy barrage at a single target, causing moderate damage and a chance to inflict the Freeze and Bind debuffs.
- Violent Soul: Moebius H will pause for a moment, gathering her strength to grant her the Attack Up buff. When Enraged, will grant her the Awakening buff instead.
- Moebius Dominion: Attackers: Moebius H unleashes a wave of energy, causing all Attackers to suffer the Sword Bind debuff which causes them to become Shackled.
- Blizzard Stream: Moebius H shoots a beam of ice in a line in front of her, dealing light-moderate damage to all targets in a line AoE and inflicting the Freeze debuff.
You’ll notice that nearly all of Moebius H’s Arts will cause debuffs, and more specifically, the Freeze debuff. With this in mind, ensure you have some way of recovering from this, such as Valdi’s Cure Bullet from the War Medic Class. Freeze Vortex is the most common Art she’ll use, and it’s one of the deadlier Arts as it tends to hit the majority of the party while also inflicting Freeze.
You can expect her to use Violent Soul throughout the battle, so odds are you’ll always be dealing with her having the Attack Up buff, followed by the Awakening Buff once she’s Enraged. Ice Maiden is one of the easier Arts to deal with, however, as there’s plenty of time while she’s rising in the Air to use Break or another like-minded status to knock her back down and avoid her using the Art.
The Moebius H battle also sees the return of the dangerous Moebius Dominion Arts, with Moebius H using Moebius Dominion: Attackers. This will shackle any Attackers in your party, disabling them completely. As with the other versions of this Art, quickly switch control to them and press the onscreen buttons to release them rather than waiting for the AI to do it manually. Thankfully, Attackers aren’t as crucial to a battle as Defenders and Healers, but it can still cause issues by prolonging the battle.
Blizzard Stream is one of Moebius H’s lesser used Arts, but when she does use it, it can be deadly if you have allies standing in the way of it. The continuous damage that ticks up while she fires it can really add up and the Freeze debuff that follows can cause even more problems.
Once she’s Enraged, she’ll take longer to use her Arts as she’ll need to charge them all first but as a result, all of them will deal much more damage and with Awakening too, can often be fatal if you’re fighting her around her Level. Save your Chain Attacks for this stage and look to use Break on some of her deadlier Arts at this stage such as Blizzard Stream or Freeze Vortex.
At this point of the game, a Signifier should be a mainstay in the party, the buffs they provide are just far too important. You’ll want another Healer to help share the burden and then any mix of Defenders/Attackers will work. As Moebius H has a lot of AoE, you can get away with just the single Defender and it will give you greater damage during a Chain Attack.
