This is a guide for the Moebius V boss fight found in Taion’s Ascension Quest, Side Story - Taion in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, taking place in the Cadensia Region.
How to Beat Moebius V¶
Name | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Moebius V | 56 |
The eccentric Moebius V is all that remains in your quest to protect the Lost Colony. This is another Moebius that relies heavily on using debuffs against you to turn the tide in his favor. That doesn’t mean his other, non debuff Arts, are harmless, they’ll still deal plenty of damage if you’re not careful.
Moebius V has plenty of Arts available to him, and you can learn more about them below:
- Lethal Mist: Moebius V will leap into the air and soot a Toxic mist over the battlefield, causing light damage and the Toxic debuff to all targets.
- Microblast: Moebius V will shoot a large laser in a line AoE in front of him, dealing moderate damage and with a chance to inflict the Resistance Down debuff.
- Scapegoat: Moebius V will perform a three hit combo on a single target that can deal major damage if all hits connects and has the chance to cause a Break > Topple > Daze combo.
- Accursed Dance: Moebius V will dance on the spot which releases a wave of energy that has the chance to inflict Shackle Healing on the entire party.
- Moebius Dominion: Healers: Moebius V will unleash a wave of energy that will shackle any targets that are in the Healer Role.
You’ll see from the Arts above that Moebius V has many methods to inflict some nasty debuffs on you, be it damage-over-time from Toxic or having the Daze combo coming your way. As always when you’re up against a boss that loves to use debuffs, you’ll want the Cure Bullet Art (the War Medic Class or Valdi himself) so you can better counter them.
Moebius V will use Lethal Mist often enough that you’re going to be contending with the Toxic debuff throughout the entire battle and the fact that it hits the entire arena means there’s no hiding from it. Microblast is lethal by itself, but it will also inflict Resistance Down which can dilute the effect from Toxic resistance Accessories you may already be wearing.
Scapegoat is his final Art that will deal debuffs, this is a three-hit attack, and he can miss parts of the attack. If he should succeed in landing all of the hits though, you’ll take major damage and there’s a chance you get Break, Topple and Daze all at once.
Accursed Dance is an interesting Art, as it will hit the entire party and have a chance to inflict Shackle Healing. It’s important to not get mixed up with the Moebius Dominion Arts as this won’t shackle your Healers, but instead prevent healing while the debuff persists. This is especially dangerous if you have Toxic on you and is one of those moments where if a lot of the party is on low HP, you may wish to use a Chain Attack and try and get a Cure Bullet off in the middle of it.
Moebius V also has Moebius Dominion: Healers available to him and you’ll be well aware of how this works by now. Your Healers will become shackled so quickly switch over to them and manually press the onscreen buttons to release them quicker than what the AI would do.
Moebius V isn’t necessarily a tough battle, but with the way Chapter 6 works, it’s easy to enter this battle while being underlevel which can increase the difficulty a little. The main threat is dealing with the constant Toxic debuff, once you solve that (hopefully with Valdi’s Cure Bullet), the rest of the battle is easy enough to manage.
