This is a guide for the “Imminent Illusion” standard quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It’ll navigate you through the necessary steps to defeating the Mysterious Raider.
How to Start the Imminent Illusion Standard Quest¶
Progress through the game until you reach Chapter 4 and work your way through the Great Cotte Falls, then continue onwards until you reach High Maktha Wildwood. Here you’ll ambushed by a team from Colony Tau which will trigger the Hero Quest, Natural Selection which will unlock the Rope Sliding ability. Continue to follow the main quest marker along to the north and eventually you’ll get ambushed again, but this time by a Mysterious Raider. This will begin the Imminent Illusion Standard Quest.
How To Defeat the Mysterious Raider¶
In order to complete this quest you’ll fight the Mysterious Raider, but good news here is that you only need to take the Mysterious Raider down to 3/4 of its HP before it decides to flee the battle. Additionally, it being a single enemy gives you the advantage on numbers.
Due to the fact that you only need to inflict a certain amount of damage to the Mysterious Raider before it flees, it tends to chain a lot of its Arts together, meaning the damage can add up. With that in mind, don’t hold back, make use of Interlink at Level 1 or 2 instead of saving up for Level 3 and make use of any combos that you have available to you, if you time it right, you can knock it out of its Arts.
