This is a guide for the “Riku and Manana” standard quest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It’ll navigate you through the necessary steps to crafting gems and cooking delicious food.
Now that you’ve set up camp at the oasis for the night, help Manana make a scrumptious meal.
How to Start the Riku and Manana Standard Quest¶
Progress through the game until you reach Chapter 2, then continue onwards until you reach the Eagnus Wilderness. Follow the path the team agreed upon until you eventually enter a cutscene. Here you see Mio struggling to deal with the heat, but thankfully they spot an Oasis nearby and decide to have a quick splash to cooldown.
After some planning the team decide to rest at the nearby campsite for the night and then Riku and Manana return with a delicious recipe to cook, but it’ll be a few hours until it’s ready, but it can be quicker if the team help out and so this Standard Quest begins!
How To Cook A Meal in Xenoblade Chronicles 3¶
You’ll now be introduced to the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 cooking system. Here you’ll see that eating delicious dishes from Manana at camp spots will increase the amount EXP the team from battles. Additionally, Manana can learn new recipes which contain different status effects if you order dishes from different camp spots around Aionis.
Interact with the campfire and you’ll be given a tutorial on cooking, so select the cooking pot icon and use Glitter Radish, Comet Carrot and Bunnity Meat to cook up Manana’s Battle Soup. If you haven’t been picking up ingredients, don’t worry as this quest will provide them. This dish will provide the team with a 5% EXP and CP Boost for 45 Mins!
As you progress through the game you’ll want to make sure you fight enemies, pick up shinies from the ground to build up your ingredients, so you can cook delicious meals at camps. However, if you sometimes find that you’re short on a few ingredients then you can use Nopon Coins that are found by defeating Unique Enemies or by opening Containers to cook them.
Where To Find a Glaring Eyeball in Xenoblade Chronicles 3¶
Now that Manana has shown off her cooking talent, Riku feels a little left and decides to put his skills to work by showing the team how to craft gems. Here you’ll quest marker to the southeast of Racines Platter to find a Gyanna Aspar sitting by a pool of water.
This enemy isn’t overly tricky as it’s more setup as a tutorial, so just attack it a few times and the party will get wiped, then follow the chained attack tutorial and you’ll defeat it naturally. Return to the camp and Riku will get started with the Crafting Gems tutorial. Like with cooking interact with the campfire and choose the gem icon.
How To Craft A Gem in Xenoblade Chronicles 3¶
Here you’ll want to choose best suited to one of your classes if you have the required ingredients. so for this example we’ll choose the Ironclad I, as it increases maximum HP by 100. In order to craft it you’ll need one Gemstone which Riku has provided and one Glaring Eyeball that you just collected. In future if you don’t have any, then you can use a Nopon Coin like with cooking.
Next up, you’ll need to equip the Gem you just crafted, so open up your menu by pressing , then select Characters followed by Gems. Here you can choose the top slot and put in the Ironclad I which you just crafted and the quest will come to a close .
