The 50 GS is the Desert Eagle in MW2, an iconic weapon in the CoD franchise. The weapon has decent range, stopping power, and feels very good to use. You will find the weapon levels will fly as you use this, and the challenges will more or less come naturally. Here is a look at the .50 GS Camo Challenges, and tips, tricks, loadouts and map strategies to make this challenge much easier.

Orion Challenge | Currently unknown | Orion Camo |
You will passively get the first challenge, so don’t sweat about it.
As for the second, you’re presented with one of the harder challenges. All you need to do is to try and get two kills, with the second shortly after the first. You can make this easier on yourself if you get good at clicking heads on enemies. Moreso, playing objective focus maps help with the challenge, as you’re likely to find two close-range targets together. We recommend using Snapshot Grenades to know the locations of enemies, as that can help your swing your aim to the next target for another kill. We also recommend using an optic on the gun to make it easier to trace enemies, as the iron sights aren’t ideal. We also recommend the SA Hare Trigger to increase the fire rate, but ensure you have recoil control attachments elsewhere, as the recoil will fly away.
The third challenge requires players to get mounted kills. The pistol’s ideal range makes getting mounted kills fairly easy. Simply run around the map, snapshotting yourself to surfaces with the mount button. You can do this to cover angles with no recoil for easy kills. Either run around and use cover amounts to look for kills, or overwatch areas players run around to get quick kills. If you do look for ranged kills, try using the Tyrant Fifty or the Longshot barrel, depending on what you have unlocked.
.50 GS akimbo challenge¶
The final challenge requires you to use the Akimbo rear grip attachment. The result is you get two incredibly awful hip-fire recoil and accuracy guns. You will need map strategies and loadouts to get this done correctly.
The loadout you want to run is as follows:
- Rear Grip: Akimbo
- Trigger: SA Competition Trigger
- Barrel: Tyrant Fifty
- Laser: 1MW Pistol Laser (acquired by the p890 at level 5). If you don’t have this, go for a muzzle recoil control instead, like the SA Peak–77
- Ammunition: .50 Overpressured
The core of this loadout means you get increased hip fire recoil and accuracy, stemming from the laser and the barrel. You also get a better fire rate, as the Deagle’s hip fires accuracy is borderline awful, so you need faster propounds to increase chances of kills. You also want the overpressured ammo, as they deliver flinch damage, which makes the enemy player’s accuracy worse, effectively serving as a safety measure against getting easily killed by ADS players.
Now you have the Deagle loadout ready, it’s time for the map strats. You want to use these guns in tight spaces, or covering doorways. The best solution is to head to Headquarters and Hardpoint, and cover those short-range funnel spots. It’s even better if you can hide behind the door and get the easy akimbo kills. Good examples include the smaller rooms, not in the main building on El Asilo. There’s also a good opportunity to do this in the more hectic sites like AL Bagra and Las Almas. If you need to fight enemies around the 10-meter range, then try to tap as much as possible, and don’t let your hip fire accuracy fly too high, as the guns can be somewhat reliable at that range accurate.
Alternatively, you can go on kill confirmed and camp dog tags on the smaller and indoor maps. Your aim here is to use dog tags as bait, and then pounce on the unfortunate enemy who comes to get them. You can also try hiding, listening to footsteps and using the Tracker perk to look for people you think you can sneak up on for the akimbo hip fire kills. Feel free to use Dead Silence and run up to unsuspecting victims point blank, especially if you take the Overclock ultimate perk for faster field upgrades.
.50 GS Gold Camo Challenge and Higher Mastery Level Challenges¶
Now it’s time for the .50 GS Gold Camo Challenge. Your task is to get 3 kills without dying using the gun, five times. We honestly recommend using any strategy you prefer from the base camo challenges. If you find the mounted challenge worked, then go for that. If you’re a bringer of chaos, try the akimbo strategy again. However, for us, we prefer the ADS build, which is as follows:
- Barrel: SA Longshot-50
- Trigger: SA Fifty Trigger
- Rear Grip: GS 50 Wood Grain
- Muzzle: Recoil control compensator
- Optic of choice
This build will allow you to play a much more reactionary run-and-gun playstyle. You will be fast with the pistol and have solid ADS speed. You can use it like a main weapon, and look for kills you run into, or hold angles. If you can aim with this weapon, then this challenge won’t feel too bad.
As for the game mode, we recommend Headquarters and Hardpoint again. This is because you have more controlled and predictable enemy movement, as players look to fight for objectives. It means you can predict enemy movement, spawn switches, and pathing much more easily, allowing you to get the challenges done. But use whatever game mode you prefer.
As for the .50 GS Platinum Camo Challenge, you need longshot kills. Thankfully, the longshot kills is rather easy on pistols, as the longshot requirement is around 20 meters or more. Most angles you fight at in the game are 20 meters, so, you should be able to pick this up on any map. All you need to do is use the Tyrant Fifty Barrel and the EXF Fifty GS muzzle, and you have the range-extending damage tools to get the job done.
Lastly, you have the.50 GS Polyatomic Camo Challenge. The requirement here is to get headshots. Once again, use the ADS or long-range build. All you need to do is look for headshots. Chances are you have already been doing this with your ADS build, and using the close range angle watching tips we mentioned that work on most maps. Now all you need to do is adjust your aim positioning for heads, and you can consistently get the headshots you need with the .50gs.
This concludes the .50GS camo challenges guide. Good luck with the road to Orion
