Sniping is a classic of battle royale game modes, with the wide open map spaces making a perfect opportunity for players to go hunting and wrack up kills and nuke enemy vest plates before those oncoming closer-range scraps. The result is that sniping can create a solid advantage for those who can adjust for stance, bullet drop and velocity. However, only a quick scoping god can use these weapons when the heat gets close. So, the best opportunity is to get yourself a sniper support weapon to aid in those situations.
With that said, we look at the best Warzone 2 Sniper Support meta weapons you can use in your classes and playstyles. This features a range of hyrbid weapons, and pure dedicated SMG like weapons.
Best Warzone 2 Sniper Support Weapons in the Meta¶
In this section, we are here to list five weapons worth looking into for the best sniper support weapons in the Warzone 2 meta right now. You’ll get a reason why we believe so and of course, a quick loadout for those guns you can use.
Chimera¶
The Chimera released with the Season01 reloaded patch, and with it comes a honey badger with an AR stat, but with an SMG-like profile. The result is you have an ACP firing contender to the Kastov 74U. This is great for Warzone 2, largely thanks to its solid mobile-ish and SMG-like playstyle for those close-quarter situations. In addition, the weapon has a built-in silencer and ACP rounds, so you remove those awkward death markers from your kills to make it harder to track your position. A true stealth scout sniper playstyle is in your hands.
The loadout of the Chimera you can expect is
- Lazer: VLK LZR 7MW
- Optic: Preference but we went with the Cronen Mini Pro
- Stock: Ravage-8
- Rear Grip: D37 Grip
- Underbarrel: VX Pineapple
You can potentially modify the barrel if you so with for the 10“ barrel, but you do lose that built-in silencer. However, you do get some better hip fire, velocity and range because of it, but not that much. It’s preference really, but it will mean adjusting the rest of the loadout too.
Vaznev¶
The Vaznev 9K is the most dominant SMG in the meta of MW2 and Warzone 2 It did get nerfed in Season 01 reloaded, but its still a beast of a weapon. If you’re rather use to the Vaznev at this point, then you can still abuse its advantages in this game regardless of the nerfs. Here is the Vaznev loadout you want to use for a support sniper playstyle in Warzone 2
- Lazer: FSS OLE-V laser
- Muzzle: XTEN Black Kite or Singuard MKV
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper
- Magazine: 45 Round Magazine
- Rear Grip: Demo-X2 Grip
This build focuses more on recoil control and steadiness than your usual MW2 Vaznev loadout. The reason is that you’ve got more ammo, and may need to fight slightly at range. So, steadier shots will help in these more open and slightly more ranged moments.
Fennec¶
The Fennec is the ultimate close-quarter SMG weapon, with its rate of fire getting the crown of the ultimate bullet hose. This weapon is the perfect CQB indoor or getting pushed weapon, with its hire rate of fire able to melt opponents away. For that reason alone, it deserves a mention on the Warzone 2 Sniper Support meta list. However, it does have a few noticeable drawbacks, which you can remedy with the loadout.
- Barrel: ZLR 16.6 Ignition Barrel
- Muzzle: FTAC Castle Comp
- Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
- Rear Grip>: Fennec Stippled Grip or an optic depending on preference.
- Magazine: Fennec Mag 45
You get this loadout due to the added damage range, since its damage profile is very specific to close range. Meanwhile, you also get the other modifications to improve recoil and control against its high fire rate. In addition, you also take some ADS Speed to benefit from the ability to make an enemy flinch before they can pounce on you. You will also need the 45 magazines simply because this gun fires that fast you can easily waste a few rounds to adjust recoil and accuracy if you sway off target slightly. Not to mention it’s Warzone 2, and higher mags are always required to account for distance.
But, there’s some leeway, like slapping on your preferred compensator rather than taking stock. Feel free to test in the firing range and get a feel for your slight preferences when choosing this gun’s options..
Kastov 74U¶
Another weapon that got a slight nerf in the Season 01 reloaded patch notes was the Kastov 74U. This has the AK 762 damage profile, but could do so in close range with the SMG profile. You need three hits to kill someone close range, and one shot must hit the chest. So, the weapon is slightly nerfed. But, this still puts the weapon into the three-hit close-range kill box, which still outshines a few SMGs. It’s also still a mobile AR, so it is still helpful for ducking and diving around those few buildings and urban areas you may need to sprint around and kite enemies to outplay them. Therefore, this is still a trusty rifle and remains on the best sniper support weapons list in the Warzone 2 meta. The loadout for it is as follows:
- Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser
- Muzzle: Harbinger D20
- Underbarrel: Phase-3 Grip
- Magazine: 45 Round Magazine
- Stock: Demo X2 Grip
The loadout here is designed to assist with some range extension and velocity, along with some slight recoil control options and steadiness. All in all, it plays similarly to the Vaznev, but you get the meaty Harbinger AK range extensions that you see on the true AR models.
This concludes the best snipers in the Warzone 2 meta for Season 01 Reloaded. Do you have a preference? Feel free to let us know in the comments below!
