Best FTAC RECON Loadout in MW2¶
Before jumping in, this weapon has very clear strengths and clear weaknesses. Its negatives are that it has 10-round mags and a slow semi-auto rate of fire. However, its strengths are that it can one-shot kill with headshots, two hit kills to the body in close to medium range, and three hits kill at extended range. There’s no doubt the FTAC is all about packing punches at range while supporting its ability to do that. Therefore, the best FTAC Recon Loadout in MW2 will aid these strengths. The best FTAC Recon attachments are:
- Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot
- Barrel: Tempus Trench Pro
- Muzzle: Shred CP90 Compensator
- Stock: Demo Precision Elite Factory
- Rear Grip: XTEN Grip
The Bull Rider 16.5“ Barrel is the heaviest of the barrel extensions, but offers the biggest increase in bullet damage and velocity and recoil control. Its downside is that it is heavy, and, therefore, slows your movement down, worsens your recoil, and reduces your ADS speed. Those downsides are not too bad, thanks to spending most of the time in ADS pre-aiming, and you naturally won’t be running around with a BR rifle.
You also go for the Shred CP90 Compensator and the Demo Precision Elite Factory because of the drastically improved recoil control. These two attachments are necessary for keeping your gun steady, so you can land that crucial second or third bullet to take an enemy down. Remember, your ammo is limited, so landing those key shots makes or breaks battle rifles.
The XTEN Rear Grip is also one of the best FTAC Recon attachments in MW2. The reason for it that it improves your ADS speeds, and sprint to fire speed. The downside is losing some recoil control, but the stock and compensator outweigh that negative. Overall, this is a solid FTAC Recon attachment for your loadout.
The above four absolutely are the four best FTAC RECON attachments in MW2, and are necessary for any FTAC RECON loadout.
As this is a marksmen rifle’s sight, we recommend the Cronen Mini Red Dot. It seems the most versatile for close, medium and range, but if you find yourself in more distant fights, then you can swap to someting with a bit more zoom and that’s fine too.
Best FTAC RECON Class in MW2¶
Any FTAC Recon Class in MW2 aims to kit the rest of your loadout with amazing tools to do the job. The FTAC Recon Class should look as follows.
- Secondary: MP5
- Tactical: Stun Sticks
- Lethal: Semtex or Proximity
- Field Upgrade: Portable Radar
Note that you can change some stuff depending on the map and game mode you are playing.
The secondary we recommend is the MP5 as long as you take Overkill. The reason for it that this weapon’s weakness is close range. So, why not have a solid primary weapon to switch to when enemies are getting way too close for comfort? If you don’t want Overkill, then the auto pistol is okay for those close-range hip-fire moments.
After that, you want Stun Sticks. Do you know an enemy is on their way? Why not throw it, slow them down, and then land the easiest one-shot headshot of your life?
Your lethal choice should really reflect your map and game mode. Semtex is good for creating pressure or securing quick, explosive kills in almost all situations. Meanwhile, the Proximity Mine is good if there’s an obvious flank to your angle, and you need a reassurance policy protecting it for you while you pop enemies in another direction.
These are all solid options that round out any FTAC RECON loadout, which is why we thing they make up the best FTAC class in MW2.
Best FTAC RECON Perks in MW2¶
Now it’s time to support your FTAC with perks. The best FTAC perks in MW2 are:
- Basic Perk 1: Overkill
- Basic Perk 2: Scavenger
- Bonus Perk: Focus
- Ultimate Perk: Ghost
As previously mentioned, Overkill is useful when you need that close-range support. You can honestly use any shotty, or some other form of SMG to support the FTAC. We just recommend the MP5 since it’s very strong, even with no attachments.
The other basic perk is the Scavenger. The FTAC has ten round mags, and carries 6 mags in total. It’s incredibly quick to lose ammo when you’re having a great time; Scavenger lets the good times keep rolling.
For your Bonus Perk, you want Focus, as it reduces your flinch when you’re hit. It’s very important as you must land your first few shots; otherwise, you will lose the gunfight.
Lastly, Ghost is your ultimate perk. UAVs are so common by the end game that not having Ghost is a detriment. The last thing you want is your slow pre aimed body getting detected by UAVs, and a zoomer comes in and domes you before you have a chance to react. This evens the playing field where you get to shine with your BR. For these reasons, these are the best FTAC RECON perks in MW, which round out the best FTAC RECON loadout in MW2.
