This is a walkthrough for Route 227, including what Pokémon you can encounter and items you can find.
Route 227 is another postgame route, accessible by heading north from Route 226. It leads straight up to Stark Mountain. The start of the route features many hoppable ledges. Afterwards, there’s a narrow hill connected to the foot of Stark Mountain by narrow bridges.
Rest Area¶
Towards the south-west, you’ll bump into your rival and Crasher Wake near a house. Inside the house, there’s a kindly lady who’ll offer to heal your Pokémon. This is useful since there isn’t a Pokémon Center nearby. By the way, she’ll keep asking if you need more healing; agreeing changes nothing.
How to Navigate Route 227¶
To begin with, make your way north-east, through a small section of tall grass. If you haven’t already, get on your bicycle and shift to fourth gear. Hit the ramp to jump across the small rocks blocking the way. On the other side, there’s an Ace Trainer. Either battle him or carefully go around behind him.
In any case, use your bicycle to leap across the next ramp. Over here, there’s a Ranger on the left. Jump down the ledge, then very carefully go west, along the top of the next ledge. We suggest using the Circle Pad to walk, because the D-Pad seems to send you straight down the ledge, even when you barely touch it…
Past the ledge, head north. You’ll run into your rival and Crasher Wake, who soon depart. Enter the house nearby if you need to rest. Either way, climb up the stairs to the right of the house. At the top of the hill, take a right and get your bicycle ready again. Ride across the narrow bridge to the other side.
From here, go north, then west towards the tall grass. If you don’t mind a quick detour, jump off the ledge below. Rock Climb down the wall on the left. Search the space to the right of the tall grass and left from the narrow bridge for a hidden Full Heal. Then go around the pond on the right to retrieve a Charcoal.
Return to before you used Rock Climb. Get on your bicycle again and cross over the narrow bridge to the south. Grab the Zinc on the left. Next, you’ll have to fight the Ace Trainer if you want to jump down from the ledge. After leaping off the ledge, you’ll be back where you were earlier. Once again, head right and cycle across the right-hand side bridge.
Make your way back to the square patch of tall grass and, this time, go north-east. Jump down the ledges towards the right. Next, beat up the Black Belt blocking the way. Once the coast’s clear, proceed north towards the exterior part of Stark Mountain. There’s a bit more of this route to explore, but we’ll cover that in the next page.
