Jubilife City is the first main city you’ll come across in the game, and has a few places inside of it to hit.
Trainer’s School¶
As soon as you hit Jubilife City, you’ll be intercepted by Rowan’s assistant who’ll encourage you to visit the Trainer’s School.
You’ll also find your rival inside reading the blackboard. Approach him to give him the parcel, and he’ll find two Town Maps inside, gifting one to you. You can access the Town Map from the main menu.
Inside of the Trainer’s School, there are two battles to be had on the right hand side of the room. These battles shouldn’t be particularly tough if you’ve been engaging with trainers and wild Pokémon along the way, and your starter should be able to take them out.

Pokétch¶
Talk to the man furthest south in Jubilife City or attempt to head north to have him intercept you. He’ll tell you there are three clowns to be found in Jubilife City and each one will give you a coupon for a correctly answered question. If you get all three, you can exchange the coupons for a Pokétch.
The Pokétch is a device that has the time, a calculator, and other apps that can be unlocked throughout the game.
The first clown is behind the Pokémon Center.
The second is in front of Jubilife TV.
The third is in front of the Pokétch Company.
The answer to all of the questions is yes.
Return to the man when you have all of the coupons and exchange them for your Pokétch.
Items¶
Other than the Town Map and Pokétch, there are a couple of other items to be found in Jubilife City.
Item | Location |
---|---|
Old Rod | Head to the building leading to Route 218 on the left side of the city and talk to the man there. |
Quick Claw | There’s a woman inside the Jubilife Condominiums next to a Pikachu and a Pachirisu who will hand this over. |
Then there’s the PokéMart, which has a vast number of items for sale in comparison to Sandgem Town.
Some items, such as the Great Ball, will only unlock when you’ve acquired more gym badges. Your starting items will include the following.
Item | Price |
---|---|
Poké Ball | 200 |
Potion | 300 |
Antidote | 100 |
Paralyze Heal | 200 |
Awakening | 250 |
Burn Heal | 250 |
Ice Heal | 250 |
Escape Rope | 550 |
Repel | 350 |
Other Locations¶
As with every town or city in the game (with the exception of Twinleaf), there’s a Pokémon Center to heal your Pokémon at. Make sure you take advantage of this before moving on.
Jubilife TV is located here. After you’ve defeated Roark at the Oreburgh City Gym, you can return here to unlock Mystery Gifts.
The Pokétch Company and Jubilife Condominiums also located here, as well as a large house in the bottom left corner. These are filled with NPCs who will give you early-game tips that you’re likely familiar with if you’ve played a Pokémon game before.
With all that done, head on over to Route 203, towards the east, to continue your journey. You can also briefly visit Route 204 via the north exit, although you currently cannot go all the way through it.
I believe the last statement should say “Route 203”, not “Route 204”.
Thanks. I've corrected it now : )
