This is a walkthrough for Snowpoint Temple, including what Pokémon you can encounter and items you can find.
Near the end of the main story, you may have noticed Snowpoint Temple sitting conspicuously near the top of Snowpoint City. Since you’re here, you’ve probably realized it’s a postgame only area. Deep within, the Legendary Pokémon Regigigas is slumbering.
How to Enter Snowpoint Temple¶
To access the temple, you must’ve entered the Hall of Fame and acquired the National Pokédex. Once you’ve done that, attempt to go inside and Candice will give you permission to enter.
Map¶
Snowpoint Temple - 1F¶
The initial room is mostly devoid of features. Head over to the north-east corner, a short distance away, and descend the stairs.
Snowpoint Temple - B1F¶
Go down and make your way towards the east half of the room. The slippery ice works just like in Snowpoint City Gym. Once you step on the ice, you’ll keep going in the same direction until you bump into something or reach normal ground again. Feel free to grab the Calcium near the corner.
Snowpoint Temple - B2F¶
This floor is a bit more mazey, but it’s pretty small, so no danger of getting lost. After going past the south-east corner, slide up across the final ice square, then go around and slide from its left side.
Snowpoint Temple - B3F¶
Right, you’ll actually have to use your noggin here. Or you could refer to our diagram above.
It’s not obvious at first, but there’s a hidden item (a Full Restore) in the rock along the top of the ice, halfway across. To reach it, slide down from the left side of the left-hand side rock by the entrance. Next, slide right, up, left, up, left and down, towards a non-slippery square. From here, slide right, then up to touch the rock.
Meanwhile, to reach the other side, if you grabbed the Full Restore, slide down and left. Otherwise, if you’re still at the entrance, slide down and left from the left side of the left-hand side rock by the entrance. Next, slide up, right and up to reach the exit. Easy!
Snowpoint Temple - B4F¶
This room is somewhat mazey, but less confined than B2F. First, check out the south-west corner. Use Strength to move the boulder up one square, then right all the way. You can then slide into the nearby ice square, then slide right to retrieve the Never-Melt Ice. Afterwards, go back and snake around the rocks to reach the exit.
Snowpoint Temple - B5F¶
As you enter, the camera will pan to show Regigigas. Evidently, this is the final floor–and the sliding floor puzzle here is rather tricky. But easy when you know how. From the entrance, slide down one square away from the stairs. You should brush past a nearby rock on the right, before arriving on a non-slippery square.
Now slide down to the rock below, then slide right and up, towards another normal square. Finally, slide left, down and right. Hey presto, you should arrive in front of Regigigas. However, you can’t do anything with it, unless you brought along Regirock, Regice and Registeel. You did, right? If so, place all three in your party and check out Regigigas…
Legendary Pokémon¶
Pokémon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Regigigas | 70 |
Regigigas is the leader (and creator) of the other Regi. Although menacing, it has a massive flaw: Its Slow Start Ability will halve its Attack and Speed stats for the first 5 turns. If you’re efficient, you can probably reduce Regigigas’s HP before 5 turns are up.
Attack-wise, Regigigas can use Zen Headbutt (strong against Fighting-types), Heavy Slam (to take advantage of its hefty weight) and Hammer Arm (strong against Rock and Steel-types, but lowers its Speed). It’s also got Wide Guard to negate area-hitting attacks like Surf or Rock Slide.
Even without Slow Start to reduce its combat abilities, dealing with Regigigas isn’t tough at all. Offensively, Regigigas has no Normal-type moves to take advantage of STAB. Defensively, Regigigas doesn’t have ridiculous Defense like Regirock or a Rock/Steel-typing to deter False Swipe.
If you’re concerned, however, you can use a Psychic-type to wall Regigigas. That way, they’ll take reduced damage from Zen Headbutt and Hammer Arm. Even better if they’re Water too, to weaken Heavy Slam. For example, you could catch a Slowpoke from a Fountainspring Cave and evolve it into Slowbro. You could even relearn Yawn, but only if you’re swimming in Heart Scales.
Anyway, do your best to reduce Regigigas’s HP and apply a status condition such as Paralyze. Once the titan’s weak enough, let those Poké Balls go flying. Ultra Balls are always great and Dusk Balls are a valid option since it’s pretty dark down here. But if you ask us, Timer Balls are the most fitting for this slugabed, although they’re only good after 10 turns.
