Pokémon: Sword & Shield

Entering the Wild Area

Unexpected things are bound to happen in every journey.

You were meant to arrive at Motostoke, but thanks to a bunch of meddling "Wooloo" IconWooloo, your train stops early at the Wild Area station. Hop sees this as a good thing though, as it means you can explore the Wild Area. If you travel through the Wild Area, you can reach Motostoke, while also running into a whole horde of new Pokémon. Sounds like a win-win situation!

Before you leave the train station, there are a few points of interest. In the top-left corner, speak to the two teenagers. If you have save data for Let’s Go "Pikachu" IconPikachu and/or "Eevee" IconEevee, you can receive a special Pikachu and/or Eevee that can Gigantamax. Also, chat to the backpacker by the entrance. She’ll give you 5 Poké Dolls. If you run into a dangerous encounter, use these to escape.

By the way, if you want to return to Wedgehurst, approach the turnstiles or the ticket machines by the entrance. There’s also a Poké Mart clerk directly in front of the entrance if you need to stock up. You could be spending a while in the Wild Area, so you want a healthy supply of potions and Poké Balls. Once you’re ready, exit the train station via the entrance.

Meetup Spot

The Wild Area lies yonder!

When you leave the Wild Area station, you’ll arrive at the Meetup Spot. This is technically the first “zone” in the Wild Area, although it’s very small and there are no wild Pokémon. Still, you have to start somewhere!

To begin with, head north towards the person standing by the side of the train station. Speak to her if you want to heal your Pokémon. Continue past her towards Hop, who’s standing between two fences. He’ll point you in the direction of Motostoke. It’s the place with the giant steeple in the far distance. As you’re talking, Sonia will make her entrance. She’ll give you the Pokémon Box Link.

Once you’re back in control, go north through the fences. You’ll arrive in the next zone.
