How’s your exploration of the Crown Tundra coming along? If you’ve managed to complete all three quests that Peony gave you, remember to report your findings to him back at the Freezington base camp. To reward your incredible work, you’ll receive Peony’s Rare League Card and a Gold Expedition Uniform.
The Crown Tundra story will also conclude… sort of? After the dust has settled, there will be something shiny by the door. Pick it up to learn it’s a Legendary Clue? Return to the Max Lair, near the beginning of the tundra, and hand the barely legible note to Peony. This will begin your fourth adventure.
If you’ve played the Sun and Moon games, you may know what’s up. Ultra Beasts will start to appear in Dynamax Adventures in your own game. They’re functionally the same as the other Legendary Pokémon, so it’s completely random which one you encounter. Once you’ve caught an Ultra Beast, you can show it to Peony for some dialogue.
To complete this quest, you need to show him a Necrozma. Fortunately, Necrozma is one of the weaker Legendary Pokémon (in its base form), so defeating it shouldn’t be a challenge. Finding it though is down to sheer luck, unless you can find a friend or fellow player with a path to Necrozma. Don’t forget to speak to Peonia after every adventure, in case she randomly offers a path to Necrozma.
Your reward for showing Peony Necrozma is a Beast Ball and Ability Patch. These are expensive items in terms of Dynite Ore–and the Ability Patch in particular is rather useful. However, they’re likely not worth the effort of purposely hunting for Necrozma. Instead of making this your main mission, you should try pursuing it on the side.
Unlocking Necrozma’s Power¶
Even though it’s a Legendary Pokémon, Necrozma by itself is pretty weak. However, what you’re witnessing is only a fraction of its true power. Once you have a Necrozma in your game, you can fly to Stow-on-Side and receive a pair of key items from the right-hand side bargain shopkeeper: an N-Solarizer and an N-Lunarizer.
Now, if you also have a Solgaleo or Lunala (you can catch these from Dynamax Adventures or transfer them from Pokémon Home etc.), you can use these key items to fuse them into Necrozma. If you want to fuse Necrozma with Solgaleo, use the N-Solarizer from your bag, then select Necrozma as the first mon and Solgaleo as the second. To fuse Lunala instead, use the N-Lunarizer.
By combining Necrozma and Solgaleo together, you’ll get Dusk Mane Necrozma. Meanwhile, the combination of Necrozma and Lunala will result in Dusk Wings Necrozma. Both of these Necrozma forms are far stronger than its regular form. Sadly, at the time of writing, there is no way for Necrozma to attain its true form: Ultra Necrozma. Anyway, you can un-fuse Necrozma by using the same key item again.
