Nihonbashi Abscess¶
In order to continue, you will come face to face with the very next Abscess, so you don’t have to do anything special to get to it. From where you found Hayataro, go up the climbing block nearby and slide down the hill beyond. Pass through the subway tunnel and on the other side, you will see the Abscess on top of a small hill.

Kaiwan x4 | 42 |
Your battle this time will be against four Kaiwan, who can certainly give you trouble, depending on how things are handled here. They know Mamudoon, so you definitely don’t want to have anyone weak to Dark in the battle. In fact, having someone who blocks Dark is ideal, as it makes it so they get fewer turns against you. While this is their only attacking spell, they can buff the entire group with Masukukaja, so you will want someone with an appropriate debuff on your end to counter that. Likewise, they can begin casting Makarakarn on one another to reflect a single magic attack, meaning you will have to resort to using physical against them.
Since there are four of them, you will want to be extremely careful when they gather Magatsuhi, as they can use normal attacks to get more turns. It is easy to get overwhelmed in this battle, especially since you have four enemies to deal with here. They resist all ailments, except for Sleep, so if you have access to Lullaby, this is a great chance to use it to help the numbers game. Likewise, don’t forget about debuffs, too, as Matarunda and Marakunda definitely help in trimming the fat. Concentrate on a single Kaiwan at a time here, so you don’t have to constantly take attacks from all four.

Nihonbashi Exploration¶
There will be nothing to find between where you entered Nihonbashi and the Abscess you just destroyed, so you can actually continue instead of having to go back, unless you need to recover. There will be a hole in the building by the Abscess’ location, allowing you to find a Mokoi who will give you the One Mokoi’s Trash… subquest. You won’t be able to finish this right away, as it requires you to find some items in later areas here in Chiyoda. Log it, though, then pass through the hole in the wall without Magatsuhi orbs. You will come to a small piece of highway with some Lamia on it, who will likely run away if you’re level 42 or so by now.
If you go to the end of the highway and take a gander over the edge, you will see another platform below you. Get a running start and jump down to it, where you’ll see a small tunnel with some Kumbhanda demons. Behind them is a Treasure Box that contains Belphegor’s Essence, so fight your way past them to loot it. Backtrack to the highway and go to the side with the trees, where you will want to drop down on that side. If successful, you’ll be on a higher ledge and find Miman #112 right by one of the pillars for the highway. You can now continue past the exit next to the Mokoi from earlier, but you will want to stop when you pick up the last orb.
Right next to that is a break in the ruined building, leading to a path that ends with another Treasure Box (Anubis’s Essence). If you saw a cutscene, then you went too far, as the little hidden path is before the open space that has the Nihonbashi Leyline. Go ahead and touch the Leyline now to register it, then speak to Goko next to it, if you want, before moving on to the next set of areas.
